Roman Reigns turned out to be the top pick of WWE Draft 2023 as he was retained by SmackDown brand.
Draft 2023 started on April 28 episode of SmackDown with the blue brand getting the first pick. They went with Undipsuted WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns bunched with Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman of the Bloodline. Bloodline’s The Usos were not eligible to be drafted on night 1 and will be available to be picked on May 1.
The second pick of the draft, selected by RAW, was Cody Rhodes. RAW brand was able to retain Becky Lynch, Matt Riddle and The Miz apart from landing Imperium trio, including Intercontinental Champion Gunther, Drew McIntyre, Shinsuke Nakamura and NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell.
SmackDown landed a lot of new names in RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and The Street Profits, Hall of Famer Edge, Bobby Lashley, The OC(including AJ Styles), Damage CTRL trio, and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.
As many as 18 names from the one eligible on night are left to be drafted and are expected to be announced during SmackDown LowDown on Saturday morning. For complete details on superstar movements in Draft 2023 is available here.
Night 2 of the draft will take place on RAW episode of May 1 with the likes of Seth Rollins, Karrion Kross, SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, United States Champion Austin Theory, and many others available to be drafted.
