Willow Nightingale vs Giulia Added To NJPW Strong Independence Day 2023
NJPW officially announced two matches for night one and night two for NJPW Strong Independence Day 2023 event.
Willow Nightingale and Momo Kohgo will face Giulia and Thekla at the night one event. On night two, Willow Nightingale will defend her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship against Giulia.
During the 25 June Stardom Sunshine event, Giulia mentioned that she wanted to compete overseas on NJPW Strong and challenged Willow Nightingale for a match for NJPW Strong Women’s Championship. Nightingale accepted the challenge later that day during AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 event. Nightingale challenged Toni Storm for AEW Women’s Championship at Forbidden Door but came out on the losing side.

Nightingale and Giulia will also be seen closing on the night one of NJPW Strong Independence Day in a tag team match. Nightingale will team up with Momo Kohgo while Giulia takes on Thekla.
Willow is the inaugural Strong Women’s Championship. She won the title at NJPW Strong Resurgence event in May by beating Mercedes Mone in the final of a 4-women knockout tournament.
NJPW Strong Independence Day 2023 event will see NJPW Strong presenting an event in Japan for the first time. The event will take place over two nights on July 4, 2023, and July 5, 2023, at Karakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Check here for the complete info on the show.
