Kota Ibushi

Kota Ibushi finally provided an update on his AEW contract.

Former NJPW star Kota Ibushi revealed during an interview on his YouTube channel that he signed a deal with AEW on a reduced schedule along with permission to appear at other promotions in Japan.

Ibushi made his long-anticipated AEW debut earlier this year on the July 19 episode of Dynamite to form the Golden Elite with Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page, and Young Bucks. They defeated the Blackpool Combat Club in a Blood & Guts match.

Kota Ibushi also stated that he signed a deal on the day of his inaugural AEW match only. He revealed that the promotion asked him about the deal and he stated his conditions and then they verbally agreed on the way forward for Ibushi. He got OK on things like competing at other promotions and reduced schedule, and hence he found it to be the best deal.

Ibusi also responded to Wrestling Observer’s post where he made a slight correction and stated that his current contract is with AEW. He thinks AEW is the best in the world and he wants to seize the opportunity in America or AEW and make it an even greater organization.

Now it remains to be seen when Kota Ibushi will make his return to AEW.
