The Fiend Advertised for Universal Title Match at Hell in a Cell
Bray Wyatt’s “The Fiend” is being advertised for the WWE Universal Championship title Match at Hell in a Cell 2019 show on 6 October.
The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, the arena of this year’s Hell in a Cell show, made a tweet today that said The Fiend is challenging either of Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship in a Hell in a Cell match. The tweet reads, “Get ready @WWE fans… “The Fiend” @WWEBrayWyatt challenges @WWERollins or @BraunStrowman to a #HIAC match!”
Bray Wyatt returned to WWE in June when he attacked Finn Balor in his new gimmick of ‘the Fiend.’ This was after a series of Firefly Fun House episodes and more tactics to hype his return. The Fiend made his in-ring debut against Finn Balor at SummerSlam where he squashed Balor. But despite him being such over gimmick, it will still be too early to put the Universal Title on him.
Seth Rollins is set to defend the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman at WWE Clash of Champions 2019 on September 15. As per the tweet, the winner of the match at Clash of Champions will be challenged by the Fiend for Hell in a Cell. Rollins and Strowman will also need to team up that night to defend their RAW Tag Team Titles against the team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Hell In a Cell is the next WWE PPV after Clash of Champions.
The Golden 1 Center website is also currently listing WWE Champion Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton. Another match that is advertised is Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre. Obviously, the card is subjected to change.
