AEW has added AEW Tag Team Championship and AEW TBS Women’s Championship matches to AEW Battle of The Belts V event card on January 6.
For the AEW World Tag Team Championship, The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens and Max Caster will go up against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in a No Holds Barred match.
On this week’s Dynamite episode, Lethal pinned Bowens in the match for the titles after Sonjay Dutt removed Bowens’ leg from the ropes. An outside referee came to the ring and told the match referee about the rope break, leading to a restart of the title match. Bowens then pinned Lethal to retain the titles.
AEW later announced that these two teams will once again face off at Battle of the Belts in a No Holds Barred match.
In another match, Jade Cargill will defend her TBS Women’s Championship against Skye Blue. On the Dynamite on January 4th, Jade Cargill & Red Velvet took on Kiera Hogan & Skye Blue and won the match even after Velvet walked out of the match in the ending moments.
As already announced, Orange Cassidy will compete against Kip Sabian to defend AEW All-Atlantic Championship.
AEW Battle of the Belts V event will air live on January 6, 2023, after the live Rampage episode on the same day at Freeman Coliseum in Portland, OR.
