WWE SmackDown TV Ratings Updates from 28 August 2020

This week’s WWE SmackDown (28 August 2020) drew an average of 2.181 million viewers in the overnight US TV. This is down less than 1% from last week’s number when SmackDown fared 2.198 miilion viewers.

As per the data released from Showbuzz Daily, hour one drew 2.210 million viewers. Hour two saw a downfall of about 2.3% as it drew 2.151 million viewers. The show as at number #5 overall for the night in viewership. However, it was at #1 for the night in the 18-49 demographic rating with 0.6 rating points, same as last week.

This week’s SmackDown episode show was the go-home episode for Payback 2020 PPV while also dealt with fall-out from SummerSlam. The episode saw the return of Sami Zayn and Paul Heyman along with other storylines advancing.

WWE ThunderDome Brings Back Audience

This was also the second consecutive week when SmackDown featured the ThunderDome presentation. The presence of on-screen fans has pushed SmackDown ratings above 2 million mark again, which was not the case since the start of July.

This week’s WWE RAW also saw a 23% increase in viewership with Thunderdome presentation and fallout from SummerSlam.
