Randy Orton’s Promo
Randy Orton comes out to open the show. We get the highlights of last night’s attack from Orton and the Revival on the New Day. Orton starts his promo calling Kofi a coward for running from the match at SummerSlam. He tells us that unlike Kofi, he is not a liar who would use his family as an excuse. He repeatedly calls him a stupid person while continuing to berate Kofi and New Day.
Suddenly, the New Day’s music hits and Kofi sneaks up on Orton from behind. He takes him down with a Trouble in Paradise. He brings a chair and wraps it around Orton’s leg. He was about to fly from the top but the Revival run in. Kofi takes care of both Wilder and Dawson but Orton flees in the meantime.
Shane is seen cleaning the SmackDown sign in his office when Kevin Owens walks in. Shane tells him that he called him there so that he would not cause any more damage. KO says that he had a horrible week, and wants to focus on KOTR match. Shane asks Kevin what’s on his mind, and Kevin tells him that he reacted badly to being fined $100,000 and he reacted badly. He asks Shane to reconsider the fine and Shane replies that he will take it under consideration.
Andrade defeated Apollo Crews in King of the Ring Round 1
Apollo hits a huge clothesline right away for a two count. He runs at Andrade but gets tripped into the turnbuckle. Andrade nails him with the double knee in the corner and gets a near fall for his efforts. Crews uses an inside cradle to get another two count. Andrade leaps off the turnbuckle right into a dropkick from Crews. Andrade sends him into the steel steps as we head to a break.
Crews catches Andrade as he flies off the top rope and hits a gutbuster. Apollo gets another near fall but can’t seem to get the pin. Andrade counters a back suplex and hits a boot to the face. Crews dropkicks him as he sits on the top turnbuckle. Andrade sends him into the corner with a drop toe hold. Apollo avoids the double knee at the last second. Crews hits an enziguiri and a standing shooting star press for a close two count. Vega helps distract Crews so Andrade can hit the Hammerlock DDT for the pin and the win.
