Shibata vs Garcia ROH Pure Title Match Set for Death Before Dishonor
Katsuyori Shibata will defend his ROH Pure Championship against Daniel Garcia at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023 PPV event.
Tony Khan, the owner of ROH, revealed the match through a press conference video posted on his social media platforms.
Shibata won the ROH Pure championship by defeating Wheeler Yuta at ROH Supercard of Honor 2023 event. Shibata has successfully defended his title three times against Christopher Daniels, Lee Moriarty and Alex Coughlin since then.

Garcia is also a former ROH Pure Champion as he held the title for 94 days last year. He won the title from Wheeler Yuta on a Dynamite episode in July 2022. He ended up losing it back to Yuta at ROH Final Battle 2022.
Garcia confronted Shibata and expressed his intention to challenge the ROH Pure Title in June. During the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, Shibata and Garcia faced each other in a tag team match where Zach Sabre Jr. and Daniel Garcia defeated Orange Cassidy and Katsuyori Shibata.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, Garcia and Shibata were part of fatal 4-way match for AEW International Championship against Orange Cassidy and Zack Sabre Jr.
ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023 event is scheduled for July 21, 2023, at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey. It is the 20th edition of the Death Before Dishonor event.
