Seth Rollins will defend World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at WWE Money in the Bank 2023 PLE.

Finn Balor was in foul mood this week on RAW(June 12 episode) and came out to the ring halfway into the show. He called out World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to come out. The crowd added to Balor’s frustration as they keep singing for Rollins for a long time after his entrance.

Balor brought up their match 7 years ago at Summerslam for the inaugural WWE Universal Championship and blamed Rollins for injuring him, halting his momentum, and wasting one year of his career. Balor added that it was his turn to take it all away from Rollins and he would do it at Money in the Bank.

Rollins replied that he and Balor went on distinct trajectories after that match, and while Balor become bitter, he came better and was the best version of himself. Rollins also had no issues accepting the challenge for the title match at Money in the Bank. He also added that this bitter version of Balor did not have a chance to beat him, but if Balor brought back 7 years old version, then they might be in for a match.

WWE made the match official shortly afterward. Balor’s stablemate Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio also set up their matches at the PLE during this week’s show. Priest beat Matt Riddle to earn a spot in the men’s MITB ladder match qualifier. Dominik Mysterio is set to take on Cody Rhodes in a singles match.

Balor and Rollins have crossed paths several times in recent times. Rollins beat Balor in the semifinal of World Heavyweight Championship tournament on May 8 RAW episode. Rollins once again pinned Balor in a tag team match two weeks back when he teamed up with AJ Styles against Priest and Balor.
