Santos Escobar Turns on Rey Mysterio and LWO on WWE Smackdown
Santos Escobar has betrayed and turned on Rey Mysterio and LWO on November 10, 2023, episode of SmackDown.
On November 10 SmackDown, the show commenced with Rey Mysterio discussing his defeat in the WWE United States Title match against Logan Paul at WWE Crown Jewel 2023 PLE.
Rey’s speech was disrupted by Carlito, who alleged that Santos Escobar was responsible for Rey’s loss, suggesting that Escobar intentionally left brass knuckles on the floor for Logan Paul to exploit during the match. Escobar felt insulted and left.

Following the segment, Carlito was set to compete against Bobby Lashley. Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde got attacked by The Street Profits during the match when Escobar came out to help them out. Carlito suffered a defeat in the match after Ford’s interference. After the bout, the Street Profits launched an attack on Carlito. Surprisingly, Escobar was standing on the apron and did not intervene to protect Carlito.
It was only when Rey arrived with a chair that Carlito was saved from the assault. Afterward, Rey questioned Santos about his failure to assist Carlito, emphasizing that they were supposed to be like family. In response, Rey delivered a slap to Santos and followed it up with a forceful forearm, causing Escobar to tumble onto the apron. Rey pursued him, but Escobar retaliated by shoving Rey into the ring post and then kicking the steps into Rey’s leg.
Following that, Zelina Vega appeared and directly confronted Escobar, leading to his decision to walk away from the situation. In a backstage segment, when Escobar was questioned about why he attacked Rey, he stated that Rey had it coming.
Santos Escobar once regarded Rey Mysterio as a hero and idol. However, it is now evident that the LWO alliance is shattered, and Rey and Escobar are heading towards becoming rivals.
