Sami Zayn has reportedly signed a new multi-year contract with WWE.

In mid-December, reports came out that his contract would expire by the end of 2021. It was also speculated that WWE may decide to add-on some time to Sami’s contract as he missed time on the sidelines due to injury.

Now, we have a new update on the former Intercontinental Champion’s contract situation. Fightful Select reported that Sami Zayn has signed a new deal with WWE in the past couple of months. The exact deal of the contract hasn’t been revealed, but, it has been speculated that the new deal is for three years.

After a wave of releases and wrestlers choosing not to renew their deals, WWE has not managed to tie down some important members of their roster to new contracts. Zayn’s good friend Kevin Owens signed a new deal last month to extend his stay with WWE.

Zayn was really private about his contract situation as WWE went to him with a new deal. Reportedly, both AEW and ROH were interested in getting Sami Zayn on board. However, Zayn decided not to leave the current promotion.

Sami Zayn is the current #1 contender for Shinsuke Nakamura’s Intercontinental championship. However, there are no updates on when this match will take place as the King of Strong Style is recovering from an injury.
