Roman vs Edge 6 Men Tag Match Announced for SmackDown 16 July
WWE has added a big tag team match for the first SmackDown episode with the fans.
Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Edge at Money in the Bank 2021 PPV. Two days before that, Roman and Edge will clash in a tag team match on the SmackDown episode of 16 July 2021.
Edge and Roman were involved in the brawl. Earlier in the day, Roman managed to bring back Jey Uso from a hiatus to reunite the family. The Usos tried to back up Roman in his brawl against Edge. But before they could attack Edge, Rey Mysterio and Dominik came out to attack The Usos instead.
With the help from Mysterios, Edge was able to force Roman to run away and then put The Usos in the steel bar-assisted crossface to embarrass Roman further.
The Mysterios are the current SmackDown Tag Team Champions and were involved in a storyline with The Usos last month. Roman Reigns interfered in the title match between Mysterios and Usos. Later, Roman Reigns faced Rey Mysterio in a Hell in a Cell match at the SmackDown episode of 18 June 2021.
WWE has now announced that Edge will team up with Rey and Dominik on next week’s SmackDown episode to take on the Samoan Family trio of Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso.
A fatal 4-way match for SmackDown side of Money in the Bank Ladder match and SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Bianca Belair and Carmella was already announced for the 16 July episode of SmackDown.
This will be the first SmackDown episode with the live crowd in over 16 months. The show will air from Toyota Center in Houston, TX. Tuned in for more updates on WWE SmackDown.
