WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg stepped down from the position of co-head writer of SmackDown Live last week after getting frustrated with Vince McMahon. As reported earlier, Dogg would put hours writing SmackDown episode along with head writer Stephen Guerrieri only for Vince McMahon to change the entire episode on the day of programming.

Now, PWInsider reports that Road Dogg is on an extended break from the company. He will use this time to access the situation and see where he may fit in going forward. He is still considered with the company and there is no current timetable for his return.

In another news related to WWE creative, writer Dave Schilling, who joined WWE merely one month ago, has departed the company. The reason for his sudden departure is not known. Schilling has previously worked with platforms like ESPN, Bleacher Report, 411 Mania among others.
