RAW Tag Team Title Match Announced for Clash of Champions
The new tag team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler will take on the RAW Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman for the titles at WWE Clash of Champions 2019.
This week’s RAW episode saw the alleged “biggest tag team turmoil match in WWE history” but the gimmick match actually turned out to be just a gauntlet match. The winner of the 8-team match would have become the no. 1 contender for the RAW Tag Team Championship at Clash of Champions.
The match started with the Viking Raiders winning the first round over The B-Team quickly. Former champions Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows of the O.C. entered in the fray next. The two teams ignored the rules and the referee, which led to a double disqualification that saw both teams eliminated from the match.
The next two teams, Lucha House Party and the new tag team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, restarted the match. To catch everyone by surprise, Ziggler and Roode worked really well and eliminated the Lucha House Party and Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins in quick succession. That was not it, they also went on to win the grueling matches against The Revival and then against the Heavy Machinery.
Roode and Ziggler will now face Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman for the Raw Tag Team Championships at WWE Clash of Champions. Rollins and Strowman won the tag team titles just last week from Gallows and Anderson. Interestingly, after this match, Rollins and Strowman will face off at the show for the Universal Championship also.
At one point at RAW this week, Strowman was actually on his way to becoming a triple champion as he faced AJ Styles at the main event of RAW this week. But as fate had it, he lost the match by disqualification.
