Sarah Schreiber is backstage with Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode and asks how this new team happened. Ziggler says that every once in a while you see someone else who has that twinkle in his eye and wants it just as bad. Roode says they realized there’s no one better to team up with than each other. He calls their team destiny and goes on with the praise, about how good they are in the ring and how good they look. Roode says they will become the new RAW Tag Team Champions at Clash of Champions, and that will be absolutely glorious. Roode and Ziggler walk off.
We go back to The Street Profits backstage. They talk more about some of tonight’s happenings but Dawkins is just ready to go party on Bourbon Street, beads and all. We see Braun Strowman marching to the ring. After the break, we see the highlights from Firefly Fun House.
AJ Styles defeated Braun Strowman by Disqualification to retain United States Championship
Strowman tosses Styles out of the ring right away and runs him down. He runs around the ring and once against runs Styles down. Back in the ring, Styles gets his boot up in the corner but soon gets slammed down. Strowman hooks his leg for the pin but Styles gets the other leg up on the rope to break the pin. He is lying down at the ringside to get a breather. Strowman has battered him in the initial exchange.
Styles jumps on Strowman’s back and put on the sleeper hold. Strowman overpowers him and slams him on the turnbuckle. Strowman charges for the corner but Styles sidesteps and sweeps his leg. Styles continues to work on his leg. After a flying forearm, Styles locks in the calf crusher. Strowman looks in a lot of pain but overpowers Styles. He gets a two-count and slowly gets on his feet. He runs down Styles a couple of times before Styles sidesteps a charge to send Strowman in the ring post.
Strowman charges once more and takes down the referee. Styles unloads with punches and hits a low blow. He brings in the chair but Strowman scoops him up to hit the running power slam. He covers Styles but the referee is still down. Gallows and Anderson run down and Strowman fights them off. Strowman picks the chair as the referee gets up. Styles plays possum and the referee disqualifies Strowman.
Strowman is furious now. He starts hitting Styles with the chair. Gallows and Anderson run back into the ring and eats the chair for their effort. Strowman then starts hitting everyone with the power slams. He looks at the United States title and throws it back on Styles. Thats the show!!
