Monday Night RAW starts with a spoof promo for 24/7 Championship or you can say it is an actual hype promo. It revisits the short history of the title before the commentary team announces that RAW will start with a lumberjack match for the 24/7 championship match. It is a mixed tag team match between R-truth/Carmella and Drake Maverick/Renee Michelle. Drake and his wife enter first followed by a rapping R-Truth and Carmella.
R-Truth and Carmella defeated Drake and Renee Maverick to retain the 24/7 Title
Maverick tries to win with a roll-up right away but Truth kicks out. Truth hits a hip toss and his signature leg drop for a two count. Truth backdrops Maverick into some Superstars who carry him back into the ring. Renee breaks up a pin and Carmella comes into the ring to start an altercation with her. Drake separates them but Carmella slaps him hard. Truth hits a spinning suplex, planting Maverick face-first into the match and gets the pin.
Truth celebrates with his title until everyone around the ring gets in and attacks him. Everyone piles on top of him and the referee counts the pin. Mike Kanellis emerges with the title and runs away with it. He is the new 24/7 champion. Kanellis runs off with the title and everyone starts chasing him. He gets behind a door and locks it from inside. Maria Kanellis comes up and clears everyone with using her pregnancy as an excuse.
Gauntlet Match for No. 1 Contender for the United States Championship
Rey Mysterio makes his way to the ring before the break. As we return from the commercials, Cesaro is the first opponent.
Rey Mysterio eliminated Cesaro
Cesaro and Mysterio each get a couple of near falls as they trade counters and pinning combinations. Cesaro hits a clothesline to stop Mysterio in his tracks and follows it up with an elbow drop. The Swiss Cyborg continues with a series of uppercuts in the corner before locking in a headlock. Mysterio and Cesaro go rolling out to the floor and Rey hits a hurricanrana, sending Cesaro face-first into the apron.
Mysterio follows it up with a dive through the ropes but may have tweaked his knee. He hits another hurricanrana to set up Cesaro for 619 but Cesaro moves out. As Cesaro tries to catch Mysterio’s legs, he dodges him and hits the sliding dropkick to send him into the barricade and us into the break.
During the commercial, Cesaro has sent Mysterio into the ring post with a powerbomb. Cesaro is keeping the control ever since. He hits a running double stomp in the corner before locking in a sleeper. Rey hits a kick to the face for his own near fall. Cesaro counters a springboard crossbody with an uppercut. Mysterio sends him into the ring post but Cesaro hits another uppercut when he tries to climb to the top.
They battle at the top, trying and countering some moves from each other’s until Rey takes him down with a bulldog. Rey sets him up on the ropes and hits the 619 and a springboard splash to get the win.
Rey Mysterio eliminated Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn runs into the ring immediately after Cesaro gets pinned. He gets some strikes going before going for the Helluva kick. Mysterio dodges the attempt and uses a small package to get the pin.
