NXT Women’s Title Ladder Match Set for Stand & Deliver 2023
NXT has announced a ladder match to crown the new NXT Women’s Champion at Stand & Deliver 2023 event on April 1, 2023.
Roxanne Perez retained the title against Meiko Satomura in a hard hitting match at NXT Roadblock last week. However, she collapsed after the match was stretchered out of the arena. She regained conciousness the following day but doctors could not find the issues which led to her collapse.
During this week’s NXT, Dr. Warren Becker gave Perez’s status saying all the tests conducted on the champion were normal. However, they will continue to conduct more tests to identify the cause of Perez’s collapse.
As Perez was not cleared for action for the timeline of Stand & Deliver, Shawn Michaels announced a ladder match to crown the new champion. It was not explicitly said that Perez has vacated the title or that she is stripped as the champion.
Qualifier matches were held during this week’s NXT episode for the ladder match. Zoey Stark defeated Sol Ruca in the first qualifier, while Gigi Dolin qualified by beating Kiana James. It is expected that 2 more women will be added to the match via qualifiers next week.
It is also speculated that Roxanne Perez might also return in time to be added to the match and defend her title. However, those remain speculations at this point in time.
NXT Stand & Deliver 2023 will be the third edition of the Stand & Deliver event series taking place during WrestleMania 39 weekend. The event will air from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA. Keep tuned in for more news and updates.
