- WarGames event return for 2020 with two matches taking place likely on the night.
- TakeOver WarGames will not take place during Survivor Series weekend for the first time.
WWE has announced the return of the WarGames event with NXT TakeOver WarGames 2020 PPV on 6 December 2020.
The announcement came after Shotzi Blackheart, in her promo, told Candice LeRae that she is ready for War and LeRae should bring her team. This is an indication that Blackheart and LeRae might work as the team captains for the women’s WarGames match.
The first women’s WarGames match took place at last year’s event where Rhea Ripley won the match for her team by pinning Shayna Baszler. Tomasso Ciampa’s team also defeated the Undisputed ERA in the main event match at WarGames 2019.
Undisputed ERA is looking set to feature in the men’s WarGames match against Pat MacAfee, Pete Dunne, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan. The two teams closed tonight’s NXT episode with a brawl.
This will be 4th WarGames event taking place under NXT’s banner with first one taking place in 2017. Earlier, the event was part of WCW PPV calendar for the year.
