NWA Crockett Cup 2022 Results Night 1(Mar 19)- Live Updates

NWA will bring back the Crockett Cup event with the night 1 event on March 19, 2022. The

Night 1 will feature first-round matches from Crockett Cup Tournament along with a qualifying match for #16 seed in the tournament. The Briscoes(#2 seed) will face #15 seed Hale Collins and Vik Dalishus. LA Rebellion will face the winner of the play-off match. Second-round matches from the tournament are also expected on Night 1 itself.

Hawx Arie(Luke Hawx & PJ Hawx) vs The End(Odinson & Parrow) – Round 1 Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

PJ and Parrow start the match. The End dominated against PJ first and then Luke for the most part of the match. PJ was also dropped a few times from the top. Luke slips out of the corner while Parrow was on second rope and hits razor’s edge. PJ gets the tag but is unable to drop Odinson with clotheslines. He hits a suplex for a close call. PJ counters The End’s double team finisher by sending Odinson into Parrow. Odinson goes for an Aeroplane, but PJ reverses into a cover to pick up the win.

Winner – Hawx Arie

After the match, The End attacks Luke Hawx and hits him with a powerbomb.

Backstage, NWA President William Patrick Corgan is interviewed. Corgan talks about the history of the Crockett Cup and hopes to make Mr Crockett proud. Corgan is then asked about Jeff Jarrett being the special referee at World title match between Cardona and Aldis. Corgan says it was Cardona who asked to bring Jarrett in and wonders which Jeff Jarrett will show up tomorrow.

The Cardonas(Mike Knox & VSK) vs The Pope & Mathew Mims – Round 1 Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

VSK sends Pope to the floor with a headscissors after early back and forth. Mims drops VSK with a body slam for a one-count. Pope comes in to work on VSK for some double team elbows. Inverted atomic drop and running elbow combo on VSK. Mims hits a spinebuster and Knox is now getting frusrtrated outside. A distraction after some chaos. VSK hits a dropkick on Mims and brings in Knox.

Knox keeps control and starts working in tandem with VSK to keep Mims under control. VSK hits uppercuts on the ropes and a codebreaker. Knox comes in to hit an elbow drop. Mims hits a cutter on Knox and tags in Pope. Pope comes in hot and hits a powerslam on Knox. He also fights back against Knox easily with quick shots. Pope slams both opponents’ heads into each other. Knox falls to the floor after that. Pope and Mims hit Doomsday Device on VSK but Knox breaks the pin. Knox sends Pope into the barricade and ring post. Knox hits Sister Abigail and VSK hits a top rope splash to get the pin on Mims.

It is announced that Luke Hawx has suffered a concussion and PJ will compete alone in the next match alone in a handicapped match.

NWA Women’s World Champion Kamille is getting interviewed backstage. Kamille says she respects Kylie Rae but wonders how she earned a title match tomorrow. Kamille talks trash about Chelsea Green. She also says a championship match should be one-on-one and not a triple threat.

Aron Stevens & The Blue Meanie vs Dirty Sexy Boys(Dirty Dango & JTG)- Round 1 Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

We are told that Kratos has not arrived at the venue. Aron Stevens comes out and is aksed about Kratos’ whereabouts. Stevens says due to some change in travel, he finds himself without a partner. He rants on the crowd for booing him during the interview. He says a change is required, so he is bringing in something old, something new and something blue. It is the Blue Meanie.

Dirty Dango and Stevens have a coat off as both teams get in the ring. Stevens and Dango start. Stevens with kicks to midsection. Dango whips him to the corner and hits a back drop. Heavy shots from JTG and Dango in quick succession. Stevens avoids a double team by slipping out to the floor. Meanie gets in and does some dancing. He does the tinkle attack in the corner. Meanie follows with inverted atomic drop and atomic drop. Dango comes and Stevens takes the blind tag to start to unload on Dango. Stevens and Meanie with quick tags.

Dango kicks Stevens away and brings JTG with a hot tag. JTG unloads on both men with quick attack until Meanie fires back with punches. Meanie hits a running shoulder tackle in the corner. JTG pushes Meanie to trip him over Dango. JTG hits a splash to get the pin on Meanie.

Strictly Business(Chris Adonis & Thom Latimer) vs Gold Rushh(Jordan Clearwater & Marshe Rockett)- Round 1 Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

Before the match starts, Tyrus gets on the mic and hypes Jordan Clearwater as he removes his apron. Strictly Business attacks Gold Rushh and Adonis puts Clearwater in the Master Lock. Rockett fights back but could not become the legal man as the match starts. Latimer and Adonis takes big shots at Clearwater to drop him a few times. Strictly Business continue to work on Clearwater for a few minutes.

JTG tags in after Clearwater counters. JTG with some quick attack before Adonis puts him in the Master Lock. Tyrus and others run a distraction which leads to the referee not seeing JTG tapping out. Clearwater runs over Latimer with a title belt after JTG hits him with a low blow. Clearwater gets the pin.

The Ill Beggotten(Alex Taylor & Rush Freeman) vs The Commonwealth Connection(Doug Williams & Harry Smith)- Round 1 Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

Initial back and forth action settles with Williams and Smith taking control. Freeman counters with jab at eyes and Ill Beggotten take over. Williams drops Freeman off the apron with an elbow before dropping Taylor. Freeman takes over Williams again and hits a suplex. Williams hits a big boot and an European uppercut. Smith tags in and drops both men with shoulder tackles. Smith unloads on Taylor in the corner before a powerful whip and back body drop. A saito suplex follows and Freeman breaks the pin. Smith clotheslines Freeman to the floor. Smith hits a running powerslam on Taylor and then drops Williams on top of him with a bodyslam.

LA Rebellion(Bestia 666 & Mecha Wolf) vs The Tate Twins- Round 1 Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

Brent hits an armdrag after initial control from LA Rebellion. Brent ducks a charge and Brandon hits a gamengiri on Mecha. Tate Twins keep up with quick attack. A double dropkick sends LA Rebellion to the floor. Rebellion gets away to avoid suicide dives. Mecha suckers Brent into an attack from Bestia from behind.LA Rebellion hits quick double team moves. A dropkick from Bestia gets him a two-count. LA Rebellion remains in control for a long time.

Brent counters and brings in Brandon who builds up momentum with quick moves. Brent comes in to keep up with attack. LA Rebellion send Brent to the floor and go for finisher, but Brent return to save Brandon. Tate Twins hits Face Time on Mecha but Bestia breaks the pin. Brandon is sent to the floor and LA Rebellion hit Brent with powerbomb/backbreaker combo finisher. Brandon is hit with dive from Bestia as Mecha pins Brent.

The Fixers(Jay Bradley & Wrecking Ball Legursky) vs The Cardonas(Mike Knox & VSK) – Quaterfinal Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

The Fixers rush the attack to take control early. The Cardonas are beaten up on the floor for a while. Legursky has VSK under control in the ring now. Fixers slams VSK’s groin in the ringpost. Knox gets frustrated and attacks Bradley from behind. The referee sends him out again. VSK takes Legursky’s eyes and hits a knee strike. Legursky stumbles but recovers to hit VSK with a body slam.

Bradley is hit with a chop block from Knox who was still the illegal man. Legursky still hits VSK with a powerslam. Knox takes care of Bradley on the floor. Legursky misses the Vader bomb. Knox tags in and hits a bit boot on Legursky. Knox hits Sister Abigail on Legursky and VSK follows with a top rope splash to get the pin.

The Briscoes(Mark Briscoe & Jay Briscoe) vs Dirty Sexy Boys(Dirty Dango & JTG) – Quaterfinal Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

Mark and Dango start. Mark drops Dango a few times before sending Dango to the floor. JTG gets in and JAy comes from the other side to level things up. Boys are sent to the floor and Mark hits a suicide dive by jumping off a chair.

Dango turns it around with a big boot. He brings in JTG. JTG with some quick moves before Jay takes the blind tag and double team on JTG. Dango is knocked off the apron. JTG tries to kick Jay away but Mark tags in to keep control.

JTG hits a clothesline and tags in Dango. Dango with quick moves. JTG comes in to help him out with double team moves. Dango is sent to the floor. Jay hits him with a kick on the floor. Briscoes hit double team move on JTG but Dango breaks the pin. Dango is kicked to the floor. Jay hits Jay Driver on JTG and Mark hits an elbow drop to get the pin.

LA Rebellion(Bestia 666 & Mecha Wolf) vs PJ Hawx- Handicapped match in Quaterfinal Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

PJ is working alone in this match as Luke has a concussion(kayfabe). LA Rebellion play some mind games before the bell as they tease both members starting. PJ shouts at everyone and says he has got this and everyone should back down. Mecha starts and they switch waistlocks. Mecah hits a shoulder tackle before PJ hits a hip toss, an armdrag and a dropkick.

PJ keeps Mecha grounded for a while. Mecha bites his face. He hits a big chop before PJ hits a dropkick and a suplex. LA Rebellion run double team attack to take control. Rebellion keeps control with quick tags and varied attack. PJ hits a belly to belly suplex. He hypes up realizing that no one is there in his corner. Bestia tags in but runs in a hot PJ. PJ hits clotheslines and a fisherman suplex.

Mecha hits a gamengiri from the apron. Double team attack follow. Rebellion hit Mark of the Beast but PJ kicks out of the pin. PJ tries to fight back but LA Rebellion connect another Mark of the Beast to get the pin.

Gold Rushh(Jordan Clearwater & Marshe Rockett) vs The Commonwealth Connection(Doug Williams & Harry Smith) – Quaterfinal Match of Crockett Cup Tournament

Smith starts with Clearwater. Smith puts on a side headlock and Clearwater counters by wrapping his legs around Smith’s leg. Smith hits an armdrag and Clearwater counters with hammerlock. Smith hits another armdrag and starts to work on the arm.

Williams tags in and work on the arm some more. Clearwater counters with a back elbow but Williams hits a shot at the gut. Clearwater counters an arm twist and brings in Rockett. Rockett tries to counters a double team but Commonwealth Connection hit him with double shoulder blocks. Smith hits a suplex. Smith stomps on Rockett in the corner until Clearwater hits him with a chop block. Smith’s leg is slammed into the ringpost. Gold Rushh is now working on Smith’s leg.

This continues for a few minutes. Smith hits an enziguiri on Rockett and brings in Williams. Williams with quick moves on Clearwater. A big clothesline on Clearwater and Willaims deals with Rockett as he comes in to break the pin. Williams hits a Tiger Driver for a near fall. A double team powerslam follows from Commonwealth Connection. Smith is sent to the floor but Clearwater ends up knocking up Rockett with a big boot.

Williams gets a two count with a roll-up before Clearwater hits a suplex for a two-count. Smith comes in and hits a clothesline. Smith hits a powerbomb and Williams hits Piledriver on Clearwater. Rockett breaks the pin. Smith and Clearwater are fighting on the floor now. Clearwater crashes into the turnbuckle shoulder first. Willaims puts on the hammerlock on the injured shoulder to get the submission.
