Welcome to the live results blog for NJPW New Year Dash event on January 5, 2023, live from Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
As it has always been the case, no match card was announced for New Year Dash event prior to the event. It started new storylines after Wrestle Kingdom 17. The only confirmed match in prior was is KOPW 2023 Trophy match between Shingo Takagi, Toru Yano, Great-O-Khan, and Sho, who qualified from New Japan Rambo match from Wrestle Kingdom.
IWGP World Champion Kazuchika Okada and IWGP US Champion Kenny Omega headlined the event with a tag team match against Jeff Cobb and Aaron Henare.
