NJPW New Japan Cup 2023 tournament was the 19th annual tournament from NJPW. It was a knockout tournament, held between March 5 to March 21.

The tournament will feature 24 participants and will take over 5 rounds. 8 participants got bye in the first round to directly go to round two. The final of the tournament will take place on March 21, 2023. Sanada won the tournament after beating David Finlay in the final. He got a shot at IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Kazuchika Okada at Sakura Genesis 2023 event.
