Marty Scurll To Continue Appearing for Both ROH & NWA
The recent speculations regarding Marty Scurll’s future continue further as Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that he will continue to appear for both Ring of Honor(ROH) and National Wrestling Alliance(NWA).
Marty Scurll saw through his contract with ROH which ended in November. As per the rumors at the time, he was anticipated to be joining All Elite Wrestling(AEW), as he is close to the Elites. AEW even kept teasing Marty Scurll in “Being the Elite” Youtube series at multiple points.
However, Scurll shocked everyone by appearing for NWA to close their “Into the Fire” PPV. He also took part in the subsequent TV Tapings for NWA’s episode for next month and is looking set to main event NWA’s next PPV, Hard Times, against Nick Aldis for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
For ROH, Scurll’s Villian Enterprise(Scurll, Brody King and PCO) won in the main event TV tapings after the Final Battle PPV. Reportedly, Scurll owns the rights to Villain Enterprise. The stable also holds the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship currently.
As per the latest report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Scurll is still a free agent. Additionally, the Villian is actually booked for another date for a different promotion, other than NWA and ROH. This might mean that Scurll is looking to work more as an independent wrestler currently.
If Scurll ends up with AEW, then the promotion would definitely want to give a blockbuster entrance in the promotion. Therefore, it is not expected that he makes his AEW debut before AEW Revolution PPV if he decides to sign with the company. AEW Revolution takes place on 29 February 2020.
