Lacey Evans’ Leaves WWE as Contract Gets Over
Lacey Evans has departed from WWE after her contract was expired on August 15, 2023.
On Tuesday, Evans hinted at her departure through her Instagram post by saying, we can address her with my real name, Macey Estrella as soon as the clock strikes 12. Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer has now verified Evans’s departure from WWE.
It is expected that Evans’ contract got over. But, it is not known whether WWE tried to re-sign Evans or not. With the contract getting over, Evans will not be bound by a 90-days non-compete clause.
Evans became part of WWE in 2016 and was part of the NXT brand during that time. She made her debut on the main roster in 2019.
However, her run on the main roster was never consistent. She was on the verge of a breakthrough run at the start of 2021 with a storyline alongside Ric Flair and Charlotte Flair. However, she had to take time off due to pregnancy.
After her return, she got some stop-start appearances and her character was rebooted a few time but she never got a consistent run. And the same might have led to her departure from the promotion. WWE has not removed Evans from the company roster as of writing of this article.
Evans competed in her final WWE match on July 7 episode at SmackDown, which was a dark match where she was defeated by Zelina Vega. Evans’s last television match was on the June 23 episode of SmackDown, where she lost to Charlotte Flair.
