Kairi is set to appear for All Japan Pro Wrestling in September.
KAIRI made a surprise appearance at All Japan’s event on August 6. She revealed her plan to team up with Saori Anou for a match against Unagi Sayaka and an as-yet-unrevealed partner at AJPW Summer Action Series event on September 8.
Kairi’s appearance occurred after a video that she shared on her social media accounts. In the video, she mentioned her intention to hold a unique press conference.
On Saturday evening, PWInsider reported Kairi’s comeback to WWE was in the works, and her return was expected to happen very soon. There were also rumors that she was backstage at the SummerSlam 2023 PLE event, but those were obviously false as Kairi appeared in Japan hours later.
Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer also confirmed that her return to WWE might occur around November, as she still has prior commitments and dates scheduled in Japan.
Kairi Sane departed from WWE in July 2020. She later took an ambassadorial role for Stardom before making her way back to the ring in March 2022. She went on to become the first IWGP Women’s Champion at Historic X-Over event in November by beating Mayu Iwatani in a tournament final. She lost the title to Mercedes Mone at Battle in the Valley event in February this year.
It was revealed in March this year that her contract with Stardom had expired. She has continued to make appearance as a free agent, and is now working with other promotions also.
