Iyo’s MITB Cash in Blocked, Asuka vs Bianca Set for SmackDown July 14

Asuka will defend WWE Women’s Championship agianst Bianca Belair on WWE SmackDown July 14, 2023 episode.

Asuka won RAW Women’s Championship from Bianca at Night of Champions 2023 after using Green Mist. Bianca was assured a rematch for the title by Adam Pearce, however, Charlotte Flair ended up cutting the line as Asuka accepted her challenge. The title was renamed to WWE Women’s Championship in the meantime.

Asuka and Flair clashed at SmackDown last week in London. But, the match ended in a disqualification after Bianca attacked Asuka on the floor. She also put Flair through the announce table.

Asuka came out to the ring once again on this week’s SmackDown and Bianca was quick to attack her. Flair ran out to brawl with Bianca. Iyo Sky tried to cash in her newly won women’s Money in the Bank briefcase after attacking Asuka with Bayley. However, attacks from Bianca and Flair blocked her cash-in.

Later, WWE announced that Asuka would defend WWE Women’s Championship next week on SmackDown. This is the only match announced for the show so far.

It is rumored that Asuka will defend her title in a triple-threat match vs Bianca and Flair at SummerSlam 2023. It remains to be seen how WWE reaches that point.
