Gunther secured victory over The Miz and successfully defended his Intercontinental title at WWE Survivor Series 2023 PLE.

The match began with Miz attempting to play mind games, but that strategy didn’t last long. Gunther made his comeback by delivering a series of chops, asserting his dominance in the match. Gunther continued to showcase his complete dominance, brutally assaulting The Miz. The Miz was knocked down after Gunther delivered a powerful Big Boot.

Miz staged his comeback while Gunther was attempting to lift him for a powerbomb. Miz strategically targeted Gunther’s injured leg, focusing on the damage he had inflicted on it at the beginning of the match.

Miz removed the turnbuckle pad and executed the Skull-Crushing Finale on Gunther, who managed to kick out. Gunther then attempted the Clutch submission hold, but Miz countered and reversed the move.

In the final moments of the match, Gunther executed a frog splash and followed it up with a Boston Crab submission hold. Miz eventually tapped out, leading to Gunther retaining the title.

The Miz earned the title opportunity on November 6 episode of RAW by winning a Fatal 4-Way match against Ivar, Bronson Reed, and Ricochet. Before the Fatal 4-Way match, Miz and Gunther had a confrontation that sparked their feud. Miz asserted his status as one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions, while Gunther countered by calling Miz a comedian who relies on trash-talking.

Gunther has held the Intercontinental Championship for over 500 days, showcasing an impressive reign. Meanwhile, Miz has an illustrious record, being an eight-time Intercontinental Champion throughout his career.
