NXT Stand & Deliver: Gunther vs LA Knight & Ladder Match Participants Set
A big singles match is set for NXT Stand & Deliver 2022 event.
Gunther, the head of Imperium, will face LA Knight in a singles match at the WrestleMania weekend event.
Last week, Gunther and Knight had a confrontation backstage during Gunther’s interview. At this week’s WWE NXT 2.0 episode, Gunther defeated Duke Hudson in a singles match. Post-match, The Ring General cut a promo asking why he is being overlooked for title opportunities while LA Knight was handed a title match last week. LA Knight would also come out to confront Gunther.
Gunther went on to tell Knight that he represents everything that is wrong with pro-wrestling today with lots of talking and very little skill. Knight attacked all three members of Imperium and got overwhelmed by the numbers game. MSK came out to help out Knight to clear the ring.
WWE confirmed the match between Gunther and Knight for NXT Stand & Deliver via social media later. This is just the second non-title singles match to be revealed for the NXT special event, which will air on April 2 from 1 PM EST onwards.
All the championships except NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship will be contested at the event. North American Championship will be contested in a Ladder match with Carmelo Hayes defending the title against 4 competitors. Solo Sikao and Grayson Waller qualified for the match this week after Santos Escobar qualified last week.
Cameron Grimes, A-Kid and Roderick Strong will compete for the last qualifying spot at next week’s show.
