Humbert Carrillo vs AJ Styles on RAW 28 October 2019

For the second week in a row, Humberto Carrillo faced a champion on RAW and this time, the champion was AJ Styles.

Humberto Carrillo was drafted to the Monday Night RAW roster during the WWE Draft 2019. He made his RAW debut last week in a match against WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins. He was seen making a light comment about winning the Universal Championship in the future and not burning down things to keep it on himself(a reference to Seth Rollins burning down the Firefly Fun House).

Rollins did not take that comment lightly and challenged him for a match. Carrillo was able to showcase his talent but came short of winning the match. His performance definitely got praise from all quarters and AJ Styles also wanted to battle with him this week.

Carrillo started the match on the front foot against Styles and kept the United States Champion at bay for the most part. Only after the action moved to the outside did Styles was able to get some footing in the match. The match went back and forth for a bit but Carrillo was coming out of it better.

However, Styles caught him with a tackle mid-air which caused Carrillo to land awkwardly. Styles quickly locked in the Calf Crusher and got the submission win. Styles and the OC continued attacking him after the match and the Street Profits had to make the save.

AJ Styles will put the WWE United States Championship on the line at Crown Jewel 2019. He will be facing the winner of the 20 Men Battle Royal on the same event. Buddy Murphy, Andrade and Humberto Carrillo are currently the hot favorites to win the Battle Royal and face Styles in Saudi Arabia.
