Brutus Beefcake is the final WWE Hall of Fame 2019 inductee
After weeks of speculation, Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake is announced to be inducted as the part of Class of 2019 WWE Hall of Fame.
Brutus Beefcake(real name Edward Leslie) is a former WWE Tag Team champion with Greg Valentine as his partner in the tag team called the Dream Team. Beefcake worked a match at the inaugural WrestleMania against David Sammartino which resulted in a double disqualification. He also had some feuds with Hulk Hogan and his fellow class of 2019 WWE Hall of Famer, the Honky Tonk Man. He is also famous for cut his opponents’ hairs after defeating them.
After a parasailing accident in 1990 where Brutus suffered a crushed facial skeleton, his career was put on hold for almost two years. He would later return 1991 and began hosting the interview segment “The Barber Shop”. In the same segment, the famous Rockers-split up happened when Shawn Michaels hit his partner Marty Jannetty with the Sweet Chin Music and threw him through a plate glass window. Upon joining WCW in 1994, Brutus worked various characters like the Butcher, the Man with No Name, the Booty Man and the Disciple of Hulk Hogan.
Brutus was reported to be announced for the WWE Hall of fame a few weeks ago. But while other names like Torrie Wilson, Harlem Heat and the Hart Foundation were announced, his name was not. However, Brutus kept hinting of the possible announcement with his activity over Twitter where he retweeted and liked many mentions of his possible induction.
The WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at Toyota Center in Brooklyn, New York on 6th April with the following names getting inducted this year:
- D-Generation-X(Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman, Chyna, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn)
- The Honky Tonk Man
- Torrie Wilson
- Harlem Heat(Booker T and Stevie Ray)
- The Hart Foundation(Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart)
- Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake
