Updates: Andrade El Idolo Expected to be WWE After AEW Exit
Andrade El Idolo is expected to appear on WWE RAW as soon as this Monday if the latest reports are to be believed.
Wrestle Purists were the first ones to reveal the news on Saturday that Andrade would finish up with AEW after his match against Miro at Worlds End PPV. Andrade lost to Miro in that match after her manager CJ Perry cost her.
AEW President Tony Khan also confirmed the news during Worlds End post-show media scrum. Khan said he wanted Andrade to continue with the promotion, but Andrade had decided to move elsewhere.
Fightful Select reported a while later that Andrade told AEW about his decision on December 27, the day Dynamite episode was taped. It was also reported that the situation was less than pleasant. It was not revealed who all were involved in his discussion which caused a major disagreement.
PWInsider added that there is an expectation that Andrade will be appearing on WWE on Monday itself at RAW Day 1 edition on January 1.
Previously, Triple H teased the return of a former WWE Champion via X(Twitter). Whether that champion is Andrade(former WWE United States Champion), remains to be seen.
Andrade signed with WWE back in 2016 and was in NXT until 2018 and became NXT Champion. After moving to SmackDown in 2018, he remained on the main roster until he asked for his release in March 2021. After his WWE exit, Andrade joined AEW while also making appearances with AAA and other independent promotions.
He was also advertised for some GCW shows this month, but that is not the case anymore. Keep tuned in for more updates.
