AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door 2023 Event Set for June 25 in Toronto

AEW and NJPW will once again come together for Forbidden Door 2023 event.

Both AEW and NJPW announced the second Forbidden Door event to air on June 25, 2023. It will take place at Scotia Bank Arena in Toronto, Canada. The tickets will go on sale on Friday, March 24, 2023.

The joint collaboration event was first held in 2022 in Chicago, IL, which saw several inter-promotional matches between the stars from NJPW and AEW. That event ended up doing an approximate 125,000 PPV buys along with 16000+ attendance at United Center in Chicago.

A rematch between IWGP US Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay is one of the matches speculated to take place on this card. Omega defeated Ospreay to win the title at Wrestle Kingdom 17 earlier this year.

Following Forbidden Door 2023 PPV, AEW also announced several more live events in Canada. Dynamite and Rampage episodes will be taped on June 28 and July 5 in Hamilton, Ontario, and Edmonton, Alberta, respectively. On July 12, Dynamite will air from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, before Rampage episode of July 14 to air from Regina, Saskatchewan.

House Rules live event will take place in Calagary, Alberta, as part of Calagary Stampede cultural event on July 15. The tickets for these event will go on sale on March 17 and March 25. You can check here for the tickets links for all the upcoming AEW events.

In the press release announcing these events, AEW President Tony Khan acknowledged the wrestling history of Canada and said they are not only entering a new market with this set of events but would also be paying homage to the history of Canadian wrestling.
