Welcome to AEW Rampage Results live blog for August 26, 2022 episode which is a pre-taped show from earlier this week.

ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli will defend the title against Dustin Rhodes who accepted his open challenge. Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo will defend AAA Mixed Tag Team titles against Ruby Soho and Ortiz.

The first-round match for AEW World Trios Championship Tournament will see House of Black take on Dark Order. TNT Champion Wardlow will face Ryan Nemeth while we will also hear from TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill. AEW is also advertising exclusive footage of CM Punk after he lost AEW World Championship match to Jon Moxley.

  • Dark Order(John Silver, Alex Reynolds & 10) defeated House of Black(Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Mathews) in AEW Trios World Championship Tournament Round 1 Match via pinfall.
  • Wardlow(c) defeated Ryan Nemeth via pinfall to retain AEW TNT Championship.
  • Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Ashton Day in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo(c) defeated Ortiz & Ruby Soho via pinfall to retain AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship.

Live Updates


House of Black(Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Mathews) vs Dark Order(John Silver, Alex Reynolds & TBA) – AEW Trios World Championship Tournament Round 1 Match

10 starts with Brody King. Brody swings and misses in the corner. 10 tries to take down Brody but Brody is unmoved by his tackles. 10 lands awkwardly on his feet. John Silver tags in and Buddy Mathews comes in from the other side. Back-and-forth action between them. Malakai comes in for a double team. Silver sends Mathews to the floor and blocks a move from Black. Reynolds comes in and Black takes him down before a face-off. Both teams come into the ring now and have a face-off before starting a brawl. Black and Reynolds are left in the ring as the rest of them brawl on the floor. House of Black in control as we cut to a break.

Black has Reynolds under control as we return. Mathews stomps on Reynolds’ elbow. Mathews knocks off 10 and Silver off the apron. Reynolds nails Mathews with a kick. 10 tags in and takes down Mathews and Black one by one. He puts Black in Full Nelson but Mathews saves him. Mathews hits a meteora on 10. Reynolds comes in and Mathews takes him down. Black tears down 10’s knee brace and puts on the knee bar. Mathews and Brody keep Silver and Reynolds out of the ring. Miro’s music hits and Malakai and Brody go out of the ring to deal with him. Reynolds tags in and rolls up Black to get the pin.

Winner – Dark Order

Miro is attacked from behind by Brody King. House of Black beat up Miro in the ring for a while. Sting and Darby Allin come out. House of Black retreat.


Hook is interviewed backstage and is asked about Matt Menard and Angelo Parker’s promo against him. Hook says he does not care about them and leaves. Menard and Parker come in and say that they will take the FTW title away.

Wardlow(c) vs Ryan Nemeth – AEW TNT Championship

Ryan Nemeth comes out with a mic. He talks trash to Cleveland crowd. Wardlow makes his entrance. Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt and Chris Sabin come out to the stage. Wardlow gives them a look. Nemeth continues his rant. Wardlow shuts him up with a headbutt. He hits a big double hand chop. Wardlow hits a powerbomb now. He walks around the ring, taking in the crowd cheers. Wardlow then hits more powerbombs before standing on top of Nemeth to get the pin.

Winner – Wardlow

Powerhouse Hobbs vs Ashton Day

Powerhouse Hobbs tackles him down. He works on Day in the corner before dropping him with a clothesline. Hobbs hits a spinebuster and puts his knees on Day’s chest to get the pin.

Winner – Powerhouse Hobbs

The Factory is beating up Ricky Starks backstage. QT Marshall tells Hobbs that they have completed their promise. QT nails Starks with his watch to end the segment.

Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo(c) vs Ortiz & Ruby Soho- AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship

Melo takes down Soho to start. She stomps on her arm before some joint manipulation. Soho unloads with knee strikes in the corner. Melo avoids a charge in the corner. Soho nails her with a big shot. Ortiz comes in and takes down Sammy. Sammy nails him with a knee. Ortiz hits short arm clotheslines. Soho comes in and Ortiz drops her on Sammy. Melo holds off Ortiz on the ropes and Sammy nails him with a knee from behind. We cut to a break.

Ortiz drops Sammy as we return. Soho comes in and takes down Melo with a double leg. Soho hits a suplex and keeps up with some quick moves. Sammy knocks off Ortiz from the apron. Sammy goes to interrupt Soho. Soho hits him with a poison rana. Melo hits Soho with a diving crossbody. Sammy interrupts Soho again. Ortiz tackles Sammy. Melo hits Ortiz with a ripcord knee. Soho hits Melo with the Riott Kick but Sammy breaks the pin. Ortiz tags in and takes down Sammy. Anna JAS comes out and sends Soho into the steel steps. Ortiz gets distracted and Sammy catches him with a double jump cutter to get the pin.

Winner – Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo

We see a recap of CM Punk getting injured again and losing the undisputed AEW World Championship match to Jon Moxley. We see Punk in the medical room where he says he does not feel anything in his foot, which is bad because he did not feel anything when he broke it first time.

Claudio Castagnoli(c) vs Dustin Rhodes – ROH World Championship

Dustin hits shoulder tackles and an armdrag after they start with lock up. Dustin in control for a while. Claudio gets a two-count with rana pin. Claudio starts to work on his shoulder. Dustin comes back with a Manhattan drop and hits a knee for a one-count. Dustin misses a crossbody and falls to the floor. Arn Anderson checks on Dustin as we cut to a break.

Dustin hits a side slam as we return. Claudio nails him with a big elbow. He hits a forearm before Dustin hits short arm lariat. Claudio is sent to outside with a clothesline. Dustin hits a cannonball on the floor before a jumping clothesline back in the ring. Dustin hits a big boot and a hurricanrana off the middle rope. Dustin hits Code Red to get a two-count.

Claudio drops Dustin on the ropes and hits a clothesline to get a two-count. Claudio puts him in a swing breifly. Claudio puts Dustin in a crossface. Dustin reverses it with a pin attempt. Dustin hits a powerslam and a powerbomb for a two-count. Claudio goes for a Thesz press but Dustin catches him with a low blow inadvertently. Claudio hits an uppercut to get the pin.
