We will be posting live results from AEW Rampage episode of August 19, 2022, which will feature two title matches.

Hook is challenged for FTW title by reality star Zack Clayton. Swerve in Our Glory will defend AEW Tag Team Championship against Private Party. We will hear from ROH Champion Claudio Castagnoli.

Penelope Ford will return to action against Athena. The Trusbusters will take on Best Friends in AEW Trios Championship Tournament round 1 match. With this being the pre-taped episode, the spoilers are available here.

  • Swerve in Our Glory(Keith Lee & Shane Strickland) defeated Private Party(Isiah Kassidy & Mark Quen) via pinfall to retain AEW Tag Team Championship.
  • Hook(c) defeated Zack Clayton via submission to retain FTW Championship.
  • Buddy Mathews defeated Serpentico in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Athena defeated Penelope Ford in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Best Friends(Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Trent Baretta) defeated The Trustbusters(Ari Daivari, Parker Boudreaux & Slim J) in AEW Trios Championship Tournament Round 1 match via pinfall.

Claudio’s Open Challenge

ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli comes out to open the show with ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta. Claudio shakes hands with Ricky Steamboat in the front row. Claudio says he is very happy to stand here in the ring as one of his trainer and idol Ricky Steamboat in in the crowd. He says he would much rather be in his ring gear. He issues an open challenge for next week.

Dustin Rhodes comes out to the ring to accept the challenge. Dustin says for 34 years, he has dreamt of becoming a World Champion, and he will get the best Dustin Rhodes. Claudio says when people say you would become World Champion one day, it keeps the fires alive within. Claudio says he sees that fire in Dustin, but wants to make sure that his fire is not lost after winning the title. They shake hands to make the match official for next week.


Ortiz and Ruby Soho are backstage. Ruby says they are waiting to get their hands on Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo. They put out a challenge for a mixed tag team match next week.

Swerve in Our Glory(Keith Lee & Shane Strickland) vs Private Party(Isiah Kassidy & Mark Quen) – AEW Tag Team Championship Match

Lee goes to throw Kassidy, but Kassidy lands on his feet. Kassidy goes for body shots. Lee slams him on his chest. Strickland tags in and hits a corner splash. Kassidy hits him with an uppercut. Swerve ducks Quen but Kassidy counters his suplex to send him to the floor. Kassidy hits top con hilo on Swerve to take us to the break.

Swerve hits a double stomp and tags in Lee as we return from the break. Lee throws Kassidy around and hits a corner splash on Quen. Lee continues to manhandle both opponents. Lee hits a clothesline to get a two-count. Kassidy nails Lee with an enzuigiri and tags in Quen. Lee avoids a move and tackles Quen to send him flying to get a two-count. Swerve tags in and hits House Callon Quen. Quen still kicks out. Swerve hits JML Driver to get the pin.

Winner – Swerve in Our Glory

Hook(c) vs Zack Clayton – FTW Championship

Zack Clayton comes out and takes the mic for a brief promo introducing himself and claiming to win the title to take it back to New Jersey. Hook comes out with his title. He circles the ring before getting into the ring.

Hook ducks a punch from Clayton and puts on the Redrum to get a submission immediately.

Winner – Hook

Matt Menard and Angelo Parker are backstage and start to talk trash about Hook. Parker wonders what it will do for FTW title to be held by a sports entertainer.

Buddy Mathews vs Serpentico

Mathews hits a shotgun dropkick out of the gate. He sends Serpentico to the corner and then sends him into the barricade on the floor. Back to the ring, Mathews counters a hurricanrana and drops Serpentico on the turnbuckle. Mathews hits Murphy’s Law to get the pin.

Miro comes out to the stage. He has Malakai Black’s mask and he throws it down the ramp. Mathews goes to attack him on the ramp but Miro takes the upper hand. Miro nails Mathews with a Machka kick to send him packing.

Winner – Buddy Mathews

Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter & Rebel are backstage for an interview with Lexi Nair. Baker wonder why they are not booked at All Out. Nair says because neither of them are #1 ranked. Rebel sends Nair away. Baker says they would just sit back at All Out and watch Thunderstorm fell into chaos. Baker says there is no chance that Thunder Rosa is beating Toni Storm twice in a row.

Penelope Ford vs Athena

Athena offers free shots to Ford, but ducks them and takes down Ford with an armdrag. Ford whips her to the corner before she eats a knee strike. Athena catches her handspring but Ford nails her with a back elbow. Ford drops her on the ropes and hits a hip attack. Ford beats up Athena as we cut to a break.

Athena hits a dropkick on the floor to send Ford into the barricade. Back to the ring, Athena hits the Eclipse to get the pin.

Winner – Athena

Keira Hogan and Leila Gray attack Athena after the match. Jade Cargill comes out to the stage with a sledgehammer. She also brings out Athena’s wing gear and breaks it with the sledgehammer. Athena fights back but Hogan and Gray take her under control. Cargill gets into the ring and hits Athena with sledgehammer to her midsection. The Baddies pose over Athena to close the segment.

The Trustbusters(Ari Daivari, Parker Boudreaux & Slim J) vs Best Friends(Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Trent Baretta) – AEW Trios Championship Tournament Round 1 match

Slim J distracts Chuck and Daivari attacks Chuck from behind. Chuck fights back and tags in Baretta. Slim J takes a cheap shot at Baretta but Taylor and Baretta double team on him to drop him with a powerbomb. Daivari breaks the pin. Everyone starts getting involved. Boudreaux splashes Cassidy off the apron. Daivari throws Baretta into a tackle from Boudreaux. We cut to a break.

Baretta nails Daivari with a big shot, but Daivari tags in Slim J. J drops Taylor off the apron. He mocks Cassidy by putting his hands in the pocket. Baretta drops him with a half-and-half suplex. Cassidy tags in to hit lazy kicks on J. Daivari comes in and Cassidy sends him to the corner. Cassidy hits a crossbody on J and DDT on Daivari. Boudreaux comes in and hits a Thesz press on Cassidy. Boudreaux hits Taylor and Baretta with a double clothesline before hitting corner splashes. He misses a corner splash to be worked by Baretta and Taylor.

Best Friends hit a triple dropkick. J hits Cassidy with a stunner and then dives on Taylor and Baretta on the floor. J removes his vest and hits senton. Daivari tags in to hit a frog splash. The pin is broken by Best Friends. Boudreaux pull Taylor and Baretta out. They double team to send him into the barricade with a spear. Cassidy hits Boudreaux with the Orange Punch. Cassidy goes to the top but Sonny Kiss trips him there. J hits diving reverse DDT to get a near fall. Danhausen appears in the front row and curses Sonny Kiss and Slim J. Best Friends chokeslam J. Cassidy hits a senton from Best Friends’ shoulder to get the pin.

Winner – Best Friends
