AEW is all set to present its New Year’s Smash edition of Rampage on December 31, 2021. The event was already taped after the December 29 episode of Dynamite went off the air at the Daily Place, Jacksonville, FL.

The final Rampage of this year will feature Cody Rhodes defending his TNT Championship against Ethan Page, whereas Sting will square off against Anthony Bowen. Not only that but there will be a brutal tag-team street fight as well between the teams of Tay Conti & Anna Jay and Penelope Ford & The Bunny.

TNT Championship Match: Cody Rhodes vs Ethan Page: Ethan Page will finally get his wish as The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes will defend his TNT Championship against Page at Rampage. 

Darby Allin vs Anthony Bowens: Darby Allin (w/ Sting) will go one-on-one against Anthony Bowens (w/ Max Caster) in the last Rampage of this year. 

Tag Team Street Fight: The team of Tay Conti & Anna Jay will face the team of Penelope Ford and The Bunny in a brutal street fight. The feud between them have been ongoing for a couple of months now.

  • Tay Conti & Anna Jay defeated Penelope Ford & The Bunny in a Tag Team Street Fight.

Darby Allin vs Anthony Bowens

They start with waistlock switch before coming to a stalemate. Bowens trips Allin from back heel. Allin kips up and wrenches the arm. He gets a two-count with a Mahi Stroll. Bowens gets to the floor for a breather. Bowens hits big chops in the corner. Allin runs the ropes and tries to drop Bowens. He succeeds with a dropkick. Darby drops Caster from the apron but turns around to a big elbow from Bowens. Allin misses a flying elbow on the apron and crashes into a ringpost as we cut to a break.

Darby tries to fight back and gets several two-count with different pinning combinations. Allin hits some quick moves. Bowens fires back with a back elbow and a superkick. More back and forth action. Bowens hits a DDT with Allin hanging from top turnbuckle. Bowens tries to use the ropes for the pin, but the referee is quick to catch him.

Caster tries to get involved but Sting trips him from the apron. Darby takes out both members of The Acclaimed with his suicide dive to the outside and then hits the Coffin Drop in the ring for the win.

Winner – Darby Allin

Andrade El Idolo comes out after the match to distract Sting and Darby. The Acclaimed attacks Sting from behind with a boom box and hits Darby with a chain punches to the head. The segment ends with Darby and Sting down in the ring.

Tay Conti & Anna Jay vs Penelope Ford & The Bunny

Anna blocks knuckle shot from Bunny with a chair and then nails Bunny with the knuckle shot. Conti rocks Ford with big shots. They set up a table on the floor. Ford slams Anna’s face into the ringpost and sets up Conti on the table to hit a moonsault kneedrop. The table did not break with that move. Ford brings out a glass bottle and breaks it on Conti’s head.

Bunny was bloodied after that knuckle shot. She joins Ford to bring out a custom table. Conti is also bleeding. Ford and Conti setup some chairs before bringing in Anna into the ring. Anna headbutts Bunny and drops her on the chair with a suplex.

Anna has Bunny in a sleeper hold and jumps on her back. Bunny drops on her back to slam Anna throught the table. On the floor, Ford drops Conti on a ladder. Bunny brings out thumbtacks. Anna fights back and hits a superplex, dropping Bunny on the thumbtacks. Anna covers for the pin and Ford has to break it. Ford sweeps Conti on the apron. Conti hits a back elbow and then hits Gotch piledriver on Ford through a table.

Back in the ring, Bunny has knuckles, but Jay has barbed wire on her arms. She puts on a sleeper hold with barbed wire and gets the pin.

Winner – Tay Conti and Anna Jay

Cody Rhodes(c) vs Ethan Page – AEW TNT Championship Match

Cody starts with body shots. Lambert catches his leg and this helps Page to hit a suplex. Arn Anderson does the same to Page and Cody hits him with a dropkick. The action gets to the floor where Page gets the upper hand. Back to the ring, Cody takes out Page’s knees and puts on Indian deathlock.

Page hits a shoulder tackle as we return from the break. Page rocks Cody with punches. A back body drop and a DDT gets Page another two-count. Scorpio Sky beats up Cody on the floor as the referee checks on Page. Dustin Rhodes comes out and attacks Sky. Cody hits crossroads as they get back into the ring and gets a near fall.

Cody removes Page’s kneecaps. He sets up Page on the top turnbuckle. Page counters to hit an avalanche powerslam to get a near fall of his own. Page is still selling his knee injury. They trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Page was going for Ego’s Edge but Cody slips out to hit Cody Cutter for another nearfall.

Cody puts on the figure four but Page turns it around. Cody gets to the ropes to break it. Page drops him from the top turnbuckle. Cody counters with a series of crossroads and then hits tiger driver 98 for the pin and the win.

Winner – Cody Rhodes(retains TNT Championship)
