Tony Khan Reveals Forbidden Door Hits More Than 100K PPV Buys

It seems like AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door was a huge success for both AEW and NJPW. 

AEW and NJPW presented a first-of-its-kind crossover wrestling event this Sunday from the United Center in Chicago. The event was headlined by Jon Moxley vs Hiroshi Tanahashi Interim AEW World Championship bout. 

During the post-show conference, AEW CEO Tony Khan revealed that based on early digital numbers Forbidden Door PPV managed to do more than 100,000 buys. 

He initially stated he would consider this event a huge success if it hit 100,000 buys worldwide. Now, he feels very comfortable because according to the early digital numbers the PPV event did more than 100,000 buys. 

Tony Khan also revealed that Forbidden Door PPV had ticket sales of over $1.1 Million. It was just behind AEW Double or Nothing as it also had live ticket sales of more than $1.1 Million.
