AEW Full Gear 2019 Main Show Results & Updates
Jim Ross joins the commentary team for the main show. The first match will be The Young Bucks vs, as it turned out, Proud & Powerful(Ortiz and Santana). NWA Tag Team Champions Rock ‘N Roll Express are ringside for the match.
The Young Bucks vs Proud & Powerful
The match starts with a brawl between all four of them. Nick taunts Santana and gets speared from the side. The Young Bucks gets the upper hand when Nick sends Ortiz into the crowd. Matt and Santana are battling inside the ring. Santana hits a big chop was looking for a tag out, but Ortiz is not there.
Nick and Matt are working over Santana’s arm. Ortiz tags Santana’s boot, but the referee doesn’t allow the switch. Ortiz is able to work his way out of the ring with a couple of eye pokes, but the referee was looking at Matt when Ortiz made the tag. He tells Santana to get out of the ring. The crowd has started “ref you suck” chants. The chaos breaks out once again. Young Bucks get put in a double submission together. Nick was under single leg Boston crab but he gets to the ropes, and Ortiz holds on to till the five-count from the referee.
Matt hits double clotheslines on Santana and body slams him. He goes to the top and dives on Ortiz who was on the floor. Nick and Matt with some double team moves. Nick hits a kick and a diving stomp on the chest as Santana was over Matt’s knees. Nick misses a kick and Ortiz slams him on the apron. Ortiz then sends Nick out into the crowd while Santana throws Matt into the Rock N’ Roll Express. Santana is now taunting Rock N’ Roll Express.
Back in the ring, Santana works over Nick’s knees and boots Matt in the face. Nick goes for a dropkick on both opponents. But he eats a low double dropkick from both Santana and Ortiz. Ortiz with an outside dragon leg screw for two. they trade slaps and headbutts and both are down. Matt and Santana tagged in, Matt with northern light suplex roll through three times. He then hits the Northern Light Suplex to both guys.
Buckle bomb & enziguri combo from the Young Bucks. Nick is selling a foot injury. Another combo from the Bucks. Nick asks to tag out, but Ortiz trips up him on the apron. Matt fights off both opponents but Santana lands a cutter and a double flapjack on him. Ortiz hits a senton cannonball on the floor. Ortiz lifts Matt on his shoulders and Matt counters street sweeper into a powerbomb.
Santana makes the tag and does some planning with Ortiz, Nick then gets in the ring, very much in pain. Nick then spits his gum at Santana, Santana picks it up and eats it! Nick then swings away on both opponents. Santana spits the gum back at Nick. Nick with a flurry of kicks, despite the pain. He flips off Santana and hits a rising knee strike. Powerbomb on Nick, superkick to Nick’s head, cover, Matt shoves Ortiz into the pin to break it up. Matt gets knocked to the floor. Street sweeper on Nick and Proud & Powerful get their first win.
Winner- Proud & Powerful
Sammy Guevara makes his way out to celebrate with Santana and Ortiz. They are about to beat up The Young Bucks, but The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express gets involved. They get on the apron, Guevara and Ortiz charge and they go low,-bridge them. Matt and Robert beat up Santana and Ricky then hit a slingshot Canadian destroyer on Santana. Ricky then hits a suicide dive on Guevara and Ortiz
