Catch up on the results and updates from AEW Dynamite May 29, 2024 which was live from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA. Swerve Strickland faced Killswitch while Jon Moxley took on Rocky Romero. Mercedes Mone celebrated winning TBS Women’s title. A casino gauntlet match also took place with stakes for Forbidden Door 2024 and more action featured on the show.


TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné came out to open the show with her championship celebration. Moné talked about Willow Nightingale and praised her. Skye Blue interrupted her from the big screen and revealed that she was the one to attack Mone a few weeks ago. Blue then ran through the crowd to attack Mone and dropped her the TKO.

We got a video package with a recap from Double or Nothing PPV.

Swerve Strickland defeated Killswitch in a singles match. Killswitch tried to use a chair during the match but was stopped by Prince Nana. A back and forth match ended with Swerve hitting a House Call, Swerve Stomp and another House Call to get the pinfall.

After the match, Swerve Strickland cut a piece of Killswitch’s hair as a revenge for Christian Cage cutting off Swerve’s hair before Double Or Nothing.

Jon Moxley cut a promo backstage sending a message to his opponent tonight Rocky Romero.

Chris Jericho and Big Bill featured in “TV Time with The Learning Tree” segment. He introduced the new member of his faction Bryan Keith and told him that he would be allowed to grow under the Learning Tree as long as he wanted. Hook came out but was stopped by the security. Hook tried to fight them but Samoa Joe came out and said something to Hook to take him back.

We get a video package for Stephaine Vaquer.

Jon Moxley defeated Rocky Romero in IWGP World Title Eliminator by hitting Death Rider to get the pinfall.

Samoa Joe and Hook were interviewed backstage where Joe was cryptic about what he said to Hook and their plan against Chris Jericho and company.

Don Callis was out in the ring to offer Orange Cassidy with a contract to join his family. Cassidy ripped the contract. Kris Statlander and Stokeley Hathaway came out to the stage. Statlander said she accepted the contract on behalf of her Best Friend. Trent Berreta attacked Cassidy from behind. Berreta signed the contract with Cassidy’s blood after he was split open on his forehead.

Backstage, Daniel Garcia cut a promo against International Champion Will Ospreay and warned him that he was coming for his title.

Mercedes Mone defeated Skye Blue in a singles match to retain TBS Women’s Championship after she avoided Code Blue and hit The Money Maker to get the pinfall.

After the match, Stephaine Vaquer came out to the stage and stared down Mone. Mone held up her TBS title while Vaquer held her NJPW Strong Women’s title.

Kris Statlander and Stokeley Hathaway cut a promo from backstage. Stokeley reminded how Willow Nightingale once said she would do anything to win TBS title. Kris said for the first time she did something for herself and was getting booed for it.

We get a video package highlighting MJF and his return at Double or Nothing.

The Elite came out to the ring and talked about their win in Anarchy in the Arena match. The Young Bucks gifted Okada with a Lamborghini. They went on to .praise “The Scapegoat” Jack Perry after the biggest pinfall of his career on Bryan Danielson. They brought up TNT Champion Adam Copeland getting injured at Double or Nothing and announced that Copeland was stripped of the title. They announced that Jack Perry would be the new TNT Champion. However, Christopher Daniels came out and revealed that Tony Khan had made him interim EVP. He also announced that Perry would have to compete with other wrestlers for a shot at TNT Championship. He announced a ladder match at Forbidden Door to crown the new champion. The qualifying matches for the ladder match will start on this Friday’s Rampage.

Swerve Strickland cut a promo backstage saying he got even with Christian Cage after cutting Killswitch’s hair. He was surprised by some of the names in Casino Gauntlet match which was next.

Will Ospreay defeated Orange Cassidy, Jay White, PAC, Mistico(CMLL), Shota Umino(NJPW), Claudio Castagnoli, Lio Rush(NJPW), Hechicero in Casino Gauntlet match to get a shot at AEW World Championship.
