AEW Dynamite Results June 5, 2024, Winners, Highlights

AEW Dynamite episode #248 was live on June 5, 2024, from Loveland, CO. The show featured AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland defending the title against Roderick Strong in the main event. It also featured the returns of MJF and Wheeler Yuta. Check below for the complete results.
RESULTS & UPDATES
Maxwell Jacob Friedman opened the show. He talked against Swerve Strickland for calling himself a business mogul and also tried to refure Will Ospreay’s claim to be the Best in the World. Rush came out to interrupt him. Rush asked where was the big celebration for hs own return like MJF was getting. They ultimately turned to brawling after MJF claimed that he is better than Rush. They were seperated by officials and security.
Rey Fenix defeatetd Orange Cassidy, Jay Lethal and Kyle O’Reilly in a fatal four way match to become the #1 contender for AEW International Championship. Lethal took out Cassidy with a backbreaker and KOR with a Lethal Injection before Fenix rolled him up to get the pinfall.
After the match, Don Callis and Trent Beretta came out to the ring to attack Cassidy. Cassidy took out a chain and wrapped it around his fist. Kris Statlander came into the ring and slapped Cassidy. Willow Nightingale came running after Statlander.
Chris Jericho came to the arena with Bryan Keith and Big Bill. He tried to tell his driver and the cameraman how to do their jobs.
Willow Nightingale was backstage in an interview with Renee Paquette where she talked about getting revenge on Statlander and getting even with Mercedes Mone.
Mark Briscoe defeated Brian Cage in the qualifying match for TNT title ladder match at Forbidden Door. Briscoe countered with a dropkick before hitting a Death Valley Driver and an elbow drop to get the pinfall.
Backstage, “The Scapegoat” Jack Perry was watching this match. He said the world had already chosen him, as he was willing to sacrifice more than anyone. He is already destined to become the next TNT Champion.
Samoa Joe and Hook were interviewed backstage when they were interrupted by Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari and Mark Sterling. An argument ensued.
Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith interrupted Matt Menard and Angelo Parker. Jericho congratulated Menard to get on the Ramapge commentary team to replace him and gave him some pointers.
The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn were coming out to the ring with Caster doing a rap as usual. The Young Bucks appeared on the big screen and said they would not tolerate disrespectful comments from employees like the ones Caster had in his rap. They say that The Acclaimed’s segment was cut from the show tonight.
Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana interview with Renee Paquette. Strickland took shots at MJF, Roderick Strong and the Young Bucks before handing Prince Nana a yellow envelope to send to Ospreay.
Mercedes Mone was announced to defend TBS Women’s title against Stephaine Vaquer at Forbidden Door. We got a video package for this match.
Blackpool Combat Club(Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta) defeated Volador Jr., Magnus, Rugido & Esfinge in a tag team match. Yuta kicked out of a roll up from Rugido in the end before dropping him to get the pinfall.
The Young Bucks meet The Patriarchy backstage where Christian Cage asked for another shot at AEW World title after claiming that he was screwed at Double or Nothing. The Bucks replied that they would see what they could do about it.
Saraya defeated Mariah May in a singles match. Saraya put Mariah in a Scorpion Cross Lock, leading to Mariah submitting ultimately.
After the match, Toni Storm ran into the ring to check on Mariah but Saraya and Harley Cameron attacked her. Mira Shirakawa ran out to make the save. Toni and Mira had a jealousy battle as both tried to cradle Mariah.
Chris Jericho, Big Bill and Bryan Keith went to Private Party. Jericho told them that they might not be getting success since their party was private. He adviced them to change their name to Public Party. Private Party were not taking him seriously. Jericho invited them on “TV Time With The Learning Tree” next week.
We heard from Bryan Danielson backstage who talked about this being his last year in pro wrestling, but he has not been able to win much. He then said he would win Owen Hart Cup and get a title shot at All In to become the World Champion before heading out.
Swerve Strickland defeated Roderick Strong in a singles match to retain AEW World Championship after hitting The House Call.
