AEW Dynamite episode of June 26, 2024, was live from Buffalo, NY, which was the go-home Dynamite episode before Forbidden Door 2024 PPV. RESULTS & UPDATES

MJF opened the show but was interrupted by Daniel Garcia. Garcia, who was in his hometown, talked about MJF giving him advice and being his inspiration. MJF also praised Garcia saying that he was working his way to be on his level. He challenged Garcia for a match at All In. Will Ospreay came out and gave Garcia a shot at International Championship next week, but also said the match could be for the AEW World Championship as well. MJF was frustrated for getting overshadowed. Garcia was about to accept MJF’s challenge for All In but MJF told him to worry about next week first.

Backstage, Swerve Strickland was angry at Ospreay for offering World Championship matches when he hadn’t even won the title yet. He told Ospreay to be prepared for their tag team partnership against Gates of Agony.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Shingo Takagi, Titan & Hiromu Takahashi) defeated Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta) in a tag team match via disqualification. Takahashi was on a roll against Yuta when Moxley hit him with a steel chair to cause the DQ.

A brawl broke out ater the match as Tetsuya Naito came out to attack Moxley. Takagi beat up Yuta when Bryan Danielson got up from the commentary table to deal with him.

Jay White defeated Rey Fenix in First Round match of Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Fenix avoided the Blade Runner twice but White was able to hit it in the third attempt.

Christian Cage, Mother Wayne, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne come out to the ring to confront the Bang Bang Gang, teasing a future World Trios Title Match.

Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson are backstage to inform us that the Wild Card in the Owen Hart Foundation Cup would be someone from The Elite.

The Acclaimed(Anthony Bowens, Max Caster & Billy Gunn) came out to the ring. The Elite(The Young Bucks & Kazuchika Okada) came out to challenge them for a trios match at Forbidden Door. Billy Gunn said that he had a different partner for his team and took up to a video call from Hiroshi Tanahashi. Tanahashi called himself a Scissor Ace and said he was coming to open the door.

Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe & Orange Cassidy were backstage where KOR cut a promo in Briscoe’s style.

Toni Storm, Mariah May & Mina Shirakawa defeated Saraya, Anna Jay & Harley Cameron in a trios match. Shirakawa ended the match by hitting her finisher on Cameron.

After the match, Mariah May tried to get Mina and Toni to have a toast together. Mina tried to hit Storm with the champagne bottle but it hit May instead.

Next, we got a promo for Mercedes Mone vs Stephanie Vaquer match at Forbidden Door. Mercedes was backstage where she revealed that she would be at Collision to watch Vaquer vs Lady Frost match.

Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith were out in the ring. It was revealed that Keith had an arm injury and would not be able to compete at Forbidden Door. Jericho revealed his backup plan and introduced us to Minoru Suzuki. However, Suzuki challenged Jericho to a match for the FTW Title at Forbidden Door. Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and HOOK came out to make fun of Jericho who slapped Joe in response, leading to a brawl between the two sides.

Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Kyle O’Reilly in a singles match. The Undisputed Kingdom”s Roderick Strong, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett were out at the ringside and were joined by Gabe Kidd. Orange Cassidy came out to check on KOR before TMDK crew led by Zack Sabre Jr. pulled him away. Tomohiro Ishii came to support Cassidy.

Swerve Strickland & Will Ospreay defeated Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) in a tag team match.

After the match, Swerve and Ospreay had a face-off once again. Ospreay took the title from Swerve’s shoulder once again which led to Swerve laying him out.
