AEW Dynamite episode of July 17, 2024, the 250th one, featured Swerve Strickland vs Kazuchika Okada champion vs champion match in the main event. The show opened with a International title match between Will Ospreay and MJF. Mercedes Mone also featured on the show. Tune in below for the complete results.

RESULTS & UPDATES

MJF defeated Will Ospreay(c) in a singles match to win AEW International Championship. The match went nearly to the full time limit as it ended at 59:58 after Ospreay’s hesitation in hitting Tiger Driver 91 led to a referee bump. MJF then punched Ospreay with using his Dynamite Diamond Ring to get the pinfall.

Mark Briscoe & The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) were interviewed backstage. The Acclaimed was trying to convince Briscoe to include them in Team AEW in Blood & Guts Match next week. Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana came in. Swerve confirmed that The Acclaimed were in the team AEW.

The Learning Tree’s Chris Jericho, Big Bill and Bryan Keith were part of another segment of TV Time with The Learning Tree segment. Jericho said he will be on every Dynamite episode until the episode 500. He then termed their attacks on Katsuyori Shibata, HOOK & Samoa Joe as accidents. Then, Minoru Suzuki came out. He gave a letter to Jericho and just said “next week”. It was acutally a contract for FTW title match between Jericho for next week. It also says that Big Bill & Bryan Keith would be banned from ringside. Suzuki then hit a headbutt on Jericho before the segment ended.

The Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) were backstage for a promo about next week’s Blood & Guts Match. TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné came in to thanked The Young Bucks to ban Britt Baker from the building. Okada was acting like a fan-boy for CEO.

Mercedes Mone(c) defeated Nyla Rose in a singles match to retain AEW TBS Women’s Championship. Mone brought Nyle down from the top rope with a bulldog. She then used a glove to put on Bank Statement.

After the match, Moné saw a sign which read “DMD Greater than CEO”. She ripped apart the sign which was held by a fan in Sting’s mask. This fan shoved Mone to the floor. It was revealed to be Britt Baker. They were separated by the security guards.

AEW TNT Champion Jack Perry cut a promo and said he did not give a shit about Brandon Cutler, but Darby Allin had got him attention now. He called out Darby to find him later tonight.

Mariah May came to the ring cosplaying as Toni Storm. She said everyone saw her betraying Toni other than Toni herself. May revealed that she wanted to play along with Storm to take her spot, but as soon as she saw the word Wembley, the time had come to turn on her. May said she still loved Storm and promised to have her best performance at All In. She also announced that AEW was now “All About Mariah”.

An interview of The Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn & Juice Robinson) aired from Collision July 13 episode where Christopher Daniels took the AEW Trios titles from them. The trio claime that they would defeat The Patriarchy to win the titles back.

Swerve Strickland defeated Kazuchika Okada in a champion vs champion match via disqualification. The Young Bucks attacked Swerve to end the match.

The main event was followed by a brawl between Team AEW (Mark Briscoe, Swerve, Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) and Team Elite (Hangman Adam Page, Okada, The Young Bucks & Jack Perry). Security team retrained both sides. Darby Allin dived fell from the rafters and attacked Matthew Jackson which restarted tthe brawl.
