AEW Dynamite episode of February 7, 2024, will feature a big singles match to determine the World title match at AEW Revolution 2024 PPV.

Swerve Strickland takes on Hangman Adam Page with the winner facing AEW World Champion Samoa Joe at Revolution. Sting & Darby Allin will challenge for AEW Tag Team Championship against Ricky Starks and Big Bill in a Tornado Tag Team match.

Chris Jericho will take on Konsuke Takeshita in a singles match. AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm will have a “public workout session” as she faces Red Velvet. Blackpool Combat Club will face CMLL’s Mascara Dorada, Hechicero & Volador Jr.. Tony Khan has a big announcement to make.

RESULTS & UPDATES


Hangman Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland match ended in a 30-minute time limit draw. Swerve hit JML Driver in the final seconds but before the referee could count the pinfall, the bell rung for the time out.

Swerve Strickland called for a 5-minute extension with Hangman barely being able to get to his feet. Hangman left the ring and said Swerve failed to beat him to become the #1 contender and therefore could not fight for the World title. Tony Schiavone got up on the commentary table and informed that AEW World title match at Revolution will be triple threat match with both Swerve and Hangman challening Samoa Joe.

After the break, Samoa Joe was shown backstage for an interview and said neither of those men deserve to be in the ring with him and he would come out of Revolution as champion.

Toni Storm defeated Red Velvet in a singles match. Storm dodged a big from Velvet in the final moments before putting on an ankle lock to get the submission. When Storm refused to let go off the lock, Deonna Purrazzo(who was on commentary) came into the ring for a face-off. Storm’s butler pulled them apart.

Orange Cassidy was interviewed backstage and informed that he would be in action on Friday in a 6-man match, and would defend the title on Collision later.

Blackpool Combat Club(Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Bryan Danielson) defeated Hechicero, Mascara Dorada & Volador Jr. in a trios match. Hechicero put each one of BCC members in submissions before Danielson broke it up. Hechicero cleared Danielson and Moxley from the ring before hitting Claudio with guillotine. The referee got caught in the corner after this, which allowed Claudio to hit a low blow to get the pinfall.

Other CMLL fighters, who were in the front row, got into the ring to attack BCC. AEW’s Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal ran out to make the save.

The Undisputed Kingdom were beating up Chuck Taylor backstage.

Tony Khan announced that AEW would be coming to the TD Garden in Boston, MA, on March 13 for a special called “AEW Big Business.” Tickets go on sale Friday.

Konosuke Takeshita defeated Chris Jericho in a singles match. Don Callis threw a chair into the ring. When the referee caught it and went to remove it, Callis hit Jericho with a screwdriver. Takeshita then put Jericho in Walls of Jericho to get a submission.

Sting and Darby Allin defeated Ricky Starks & Big Bill in a Tornado Tag Team match to become AEW Tag Team Champions. Darby took Bill through a table on the outside. Starks avoided a stinger splash to send Sting into the exposed turnbuckle, but hesitated a bit before hitting a spear. Sting still kicked out of the pin. Sting blocked the second spear and hit Stinger Deathdrop to get the pinfall.

Sting and Darby were celebrating in the ring with Sting’s sons. The Young Bucks attacked all of them with baseball bats to close the show.
