Welcome to the AEW Dynamite Results live blog for Quake by the Lake special episode on August 10, 2022, from Target Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Chris Jericho will be competing for the AEW World Championship for the first time in two years as he gets his title rematch against Jon Moxley. TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill will defend her title and undefeated streak against Madison Rayne at Quake by the Lake special.

Darby Allin would look to continue his winning streak in Coffin matches as he faces Brody King. Ricky Starks takes on his former tag team partner Aaron Solow. La Faccion Ingobernables will face Lucha Brothers in a tornado tag team match. ROH, IWGP & AAA Tag Team Champions FTR return to Dynamite tonight.

Brody King vs Darby Allin – Coffin Match

Darby Allin jumps on Brody before he could complete his entrance. Darby hits him with a skateboard which has thumbtacks on it. He rakes the board on his face, cutting it open. Brody goes to the floor and ducks a shot. Brody throws Darby over the timekeeper’s area. He breaks the skateboard before sending Darby into the steel steps. Back to the ring, Darby rakes his eyes on the top rope. He hits Brody with Code Red. Darby tries to pull Brody as he drops on the floor. Brody hits him with a spinebuster on the barricade. Brody continues to throw Darby into the barricade. We cut to a break.

Brody has set up a couple of tables and puts Darby on them. Darby runs away and Brody goes through the table with a splash. Darby gets into the ring and the lights go out. They do not return for a long time. Malakai Black and Buddy Mathews are standing beside Brody when it returns. Julia pulls Darby’s leg as he was going for the dive. Mathews and Black beat up Darby in the ring. They hold Darby against a table in the corner and Brody hits a cannonball to send him through the table.

Mathews goes to open Coffin, but Sting is already in it. Sting attacks Mathews with his baseball bat. Sting gets into the ring and lays out Brody with bat. He throws the bat to Black. Black just throws it away and goes out of the ring. He whispers something to Brody as he was leaving. Sting is following him. Darby hits a dive on Brody. Brody hits a bodyslam on steel steps. Sting and Black are in a face-off at the stage. Darby fights off on the apron. Darby hits Brody with a chain and then chokes him with it. Brody is put to sleep and he gets dropped into the coffin. Darby closes the lid to get the win.

Winner – Darby Allin

Jon Moxley is not happy with being called interim. He says this title is forged with pain in Cincinnati, OH. He says he will test the limit of pain tonight and warns Jericho about his endurance for pain.

Jericho is cutting a counter promo after the break. He tells Moxley that what he is gonna do to Moxley could not be fixed easily.


The bracked for Trios Tournament is announced which begins next week with La Faccoin Ingobernables vs The Young Bucks and their partner.

La Faccion Ingobernables(Andrade El Idolo & Rush) vs Lucha Brothers(Rey Fenix & Penta Oscuro) – Tornado Tag Team Match

They start by brawling in the middle. LFI put the brothers in the corner. Penta pulls Andrade into a shot. Rush hits Penta with a running tackle. Rey hits Rush with a kick. Rey misses a cannonball in the corner. Rush and Penta trade shots in the middle. Rush is sent to the floor but Penta is also tripped by Andrade. Rey hits a tope suicida on Rush and then on Andrade. Penta hits Falcon Arrow on Rush to get a two-count. Andrade saves Rush with a double team attack and hits a dropkick midair on Rey. Rush and Andrade drop Rey on Penta. Lucha Bros are thrown to the floor and hit with tope suicida. We cut to a break.

Penta fights back with superkicks. He hits a DDT on Rush. Rey comes in to hit Rush with a springboard headscissors. Penta hits Andradw with a backstabber. Penta hits a double team splash on Andrade. Rush is hit with a double superkick. Rey hits a splash and Andrade breaks the pin. Tandem superkicks from Lucha Brothers. They hit tope suicida at the same time. Rey misses a frog splash on Andrade to get a two-count. Rey ducks a superkick from Andrade, which is hit into Rush. Penta comes in to save Rey from hammerlock DDT, but Rush hits him with shotgun dropkick. Andrade hits double knees in the corner.

All four men are down after they take down each other in series. Penta hits Canadian Destroyer on the apron. He goes for Fear Factor on Rush but Rush drops down to one knee. Andrade trips Rey as he was walking the ropes. Rush hits a diving knee on Penta and ties his mask on the ropes. Rey hits Andrade with a superkick but Rush catches him with missile shotgun dropkick. Penta removes his mask and jumps to break the pin. Andrade throws his mask into the crowd. Rush breaks a cradle pin attempt from Rey. Rush hits a dropkick against the turnbuckle. Andrade hits Hammerlock DDT to get the pin.

Winner – La Faccion Ingobernables

The Young Bucks go to Adam Page as he was talking to Dark Order. They give him a heartfelt apology and ask him to become their trios partner. Page calmly tells them Dark Order was there with him during the last two years when they abondoned him. He tells them that they should get some other partner to be in the tournament. The Young Bucks understand and go away.


Miro gets a vidoe talking about Malakai Black dragging him into the dark. Julia Hart appears and asks him to embrace the gift. Miro removes her hand and says only one woman gets to touch him, but he accepts her pagan’s gift.

Luchasaurus vs Anthony Henry

Luchasaurus hits a German suplex. Henry hits back with an enzuigiri. Luchasaurus hits him with a headbutt. He hits a Death Valley Driver to get the pin.

Winner – Luchasaurus

Christian Cage appears on the big screen just as the match ends. Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy runs to the back but Christian is gone by that time.


Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt come out to the ring. Dutt takes the mic and goes on to brag about putting Wardlow through the table. Lethal says their message to Wardlow is for him to defend the TNT title against him once more or they will take him out. Wardlow comes out to the stage and accepts the title match, but tonight he will whoop their as*. FTR come out to help out Wardlow. All three of them get into the ring. Lethal and company go to the floor. Dutt is searching for something under the ring, but could not find it. Lethal jumps on Wardlow but Wardlow drops him easily. FTR hit Lethal with Big Rig.


The Factory try to recruit Powerhouse Hobbs and bring up their common enemy in Ricky Starks.

Ricky Starks vs Aaron Solow

They start by trading quick tags. Starks hits a clothesline and a back body drop. Solow trips him and unloads. Starks hits back with punches and hits a jawbreaker. He hits a Tornado DDT. A big running boot follows. Roshambo is countered for a quick back and forth. Starks hits a spear to get the pin.

Winner – Ricky Starks

Nick Comoroto comes into the ring with a chair in hand. Starks ducks it and hits a spinebuster on Comoroto. Solow saves Comoroto from Roshambo. Starks avoids a chair shot and runs out of the ring. He has to run away into the crowd to avoid more members of The Factory.


Lexi Nair interviews the Gunn Club. Billy Gunn is ranting on his boys. Stokeley Hathaway come in to tell Billy to take a break and offers Austin and Colten his card. Billy tells him to go away. Danhausen comes in for some comedy before we cut to a break.


Ariya Daivari is with Trustbusters and try to intimidate Orange Cassidy into joining him. Cassidy refuses and Daivari tells him that there will be consequences.

Jade Cargill(c) vs Madison Rayne – AEW TBS Women’s Championship

Jade starts with a takedown. Rayne gets in her face as she gets up. Jade misses a tackle in the corner. A dropkick forces Jade to go to the floor. Rayne sends her into the barricade. Rayne wastes some time with the crowd. Keira Hogan also distracts her. Cargill catches her with a spear to take us to a break.

Cargill hits a suplex for a two-count as we return from the break. Rayne hits a jawbreaker. She hits big forearms, an enzuigiri and a neckbreaker. She hits a flipping neckbreaker to get a two-count. Rayne goes for a choke but Jade goes for a back body drop, only for it to be countered into a DDT for a close two-count. Hogan distracts Rayne again. Cargill goes to hit her with a pump kick but catches Hogan with it. Cargill then nails Rayne with a pump kick. Rayne goes to counter again but Jade hits her with the Jaded to get the pin.

Winner – Jade Cargill

Bryan Danielson, Swerve in Our Glory, Orange Cassidy, Parker Bourdeaux and others are announced for AEW Rampage this week. Bryan vs Daniel Garcia is announced for next week in a two out of three falls match.

Jon Moxley(c) vs Chris Jericho – Interim AEW World Championship

They lock up and Jericho starts with an armdrag. They go to lock up again and Jericho hits an armdrag again. Moxley go for a test of strength. Jericho puts on a chinlock. Moxley takes him down with side headlock takedown. They go to trade slaps. Jericho goes for Boston Crab early but Moxley blocks it. Jericho puts on a submission briefly. He changes the submission after a while. They trade chops now. Moxley takes him down with a snapmare. Jericho cranks his neck and tears out Moxley’s earring. Jericho hits a dropkick to knock Moxley off the apron. We cut to a break.

Jericho is in control as we return. They trade shots in the middle. Jericho hits a backbreaker with underhook. A clothesline drops Moxley and Jericho hits him with Lionsault. Moxley counters with an armbar now. Jericho nails him with elbows and puts him in a stretch. Moxley picks his ankle and puts on an ankle lock. Jericho kicks him away. Moxley hits him with Germax suplex. Jericho answers with Germax suplex himself quickly. Jericho hits chops in the corner by putting Moxley on the second rope. Jericho hits a hurricanrana from the second rope to get a two-count.

Moxley was running away from the ring for a breather before that pin attempt. Jericho slams his leg into the ringpost now. He puts on a leg lock on the ring post and holds onto it for 5 counts from the referee. Moxley puts him in crossface when he returns to the ring. Some counters and Jericho puts on the Liontamer. Moxley is in trouble as we cut to another break.

Moxley is hanging on still as we return. He manages to drag to the ropes. Moxley counters a springboard dropkick on the apron by throwing Jericho to the floor. Moxley hits him with a double ax handle on the floor. He unloads with punches. Back to the ring, Moxley jumps from the top and it gets countered with Codebreaker for a near fall. Jericho removes turnbuckles. The referee gets busy in correcting them and Sammy throws a stick to Jericho. Jericho runs over Moxley with the stick shot but Moxley kicks out.

Moxley puts Jericho in a choke. Jericho sends him into the exposed turnbuckle and then hits Judas Effect. Jericho takes some time to cove and Moxley recovers in time to kick out of the pin. Jericho brings in the title belt now. Moxley sends him into the exposed turnbuckle and puts on a choke. He changes into the bulldog choke after some elbows to the head. Jericho counters and puts on the Liontamer now. Moxley counters to put on a choke. Moxley nails him with elbows to soften him up. Moxley puts on a Rear Naked Choke. Jericho hangs on for a while but ultimately taps out.

Winner – Jon Moxley

Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager attack Moxley. Blackpool Combat Club and other JAS members also run out. JAS get the upper hand ultimately. CM Punk makes his return and gets into the ring to start beating up JAS. He clears the ring as JAS run away to the ramp. Moxley is sitting in the ring. Moxley and Punk face off in the middle of the ring now. Moxley shows Punk his middle finger and goes away. Moxley goes away after pushing Punk. Punk poses for the crowd for a while to close the show.
