AEW Dynamite May 4, 2022 Results & Live Updates(w/ Preview)
AEW Dynamite episode of May 4, 2022, will continue the Owen Hart Cup qualifier matches and will also feature the AEW in-ring debut of Deonna Purrazzo. The event will air from Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena, Baltimore, MD, and continue to build-up towards Double or Nothing 2022 PPV.
ROH Women’s Champion Deonna Purrazzo will face the interim champion Mercedes Martinez for the Undisputed ROH Women’s Championship. Bobby Fish will collide against Jeff Hardy and Rey Fenix takes on Dante Martin in Owen Hart Foundation Tournament qualifying matches. Blackpool Combat Club takes on Andrade Family Office in a six-man tag match. Chris Jericho will face Santana in a singles match. Wardlow faces a mystery opponent of MJF’s choosing.

Jeff Hardy vs Bobby Fish – Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier
Adam Cole is out on the commentary. Jeff Hardy comes out with Matt Hardy. Fish comes out with Kyle O’Reilly. Hardy starts with shoulder tackle. He counters a hip toss with one of his own. Hardu takes Fish from corner to corner. Fish takes him down with dragon screw leg and follows with a sliding lariat. Fish hits punches on body. A snapmare and a senton forces Jeff to get to the floor. Fish catches his kick and hits another dragon screw leg, sending Jeff into the barricade.
Hardy kicks Fish away as we return. Fish hits a knee to counter jawbreaker. Hardy hits jawbreaker in second attempt. Fish hits a couple of sidekicks. Hardy hits a back elbow and a clotheslines. He hits a manhattan drop and double leg drop. Jeff hits Twist of Fate and goes to the top. Fish trips him with a kick. Fish hits an avalanche falcon arrow to get a near fall. Fish quickly changes to a knee bar. Hardy catches the ropes to get the break. Jeff hits a back elbow and a moonsault from the top. Jeff goes to the top again and hits Swanton bomb to get the pin.

After the match, The Young Bucks come out to the ring and face off with the Hardys for a while.
We get a pre-recorded video from Blackpool Combat Club. He says their opponent will remember them forever because of the scars they will give them.
Blackpool Combat Club(Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Wheeler Yuta) vs Andrade Family Office(Angelico, The Butcher & The Blade)
Hardy Family Office attack before the bell. Blade starts with control over Bryan. He hits a few chops and tags in Angelico. Angelico puts on a stretch. Bryan comes out of it and unloads with kicks. He follows with a running dropkick. Yuta tags in. Angelico hits a punch and tags out. Yuta hits Blade with a back body drop. Butcher takes a blind tag before Yuta hits a dropkick. Blade and Angelico run a distraction and trip Yuta to allow Butcher to hit him with a crossbody.
Yuta slips through Butcher’s legs and hits a German suplex. Hot tag to Moxley as Blade comes from the other side. Mox hits clotheslines and sends Blade to the floor. He tosses Blade into timekeeper’s table, barricade and steel steps. Mox hits a cutter back in the ring. Angelico tags in after Blade hits a kick. Angelico hits an enziguiri on Mox. Mox counters and tags in Bryan. Bryan drops him and starts to stomp on his face. Mox catches Blade and Yuta puts on gullotine choke on Butcher. Bryan puts on a choke and gets the submission.

Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Stark are backstage and challenge Jurassic Express for tag team titles. Jungle Boy comes in with Christian and Luchasaurus and tells Ricky that he wants a shot at FTW title if they want a shot at tag titles. Ricky accepts the challenge.
Wardlow vs W. Morrissey
Wardlow is brought to the ring in handcuffs. No music for Wardlow once again. MJF gets on the stage with Shawn Spears. MJF introduces Wardlow’s opponent and it is W. Morrissey as expected.
They lock in as the bell rings. Wardlow slips under the tie up a couple of times as he was being pushed back. Wardlow pushes and slams Morrissey into the corner. Morrissey hits big blows to his back and hits a corner splash. Wardlow comes back with a corner tackle. Morrissey jumps over to send Wardlow crashing into the turnbuckle. Morrissey clotheslines Wardlow to the floor. He whips Wardlow into the ring post.
Morrissey beats up Wardlow for a while before taking him back to the ring. Wardlow hits back with some punches before Morrissey hits him with Boss Man slam for a two-count. Morrissey puts him on the top. Wardlow hits back with elbows and hits a moonsault from the top. Wardlow hits a powerbomb and gets the pin.
Winner – Wardlow
After the match, a couple of security guys come in to handcuff Wardlow and take him away. Wardlow starts dropping them one by one. MJF sends in more reinforcements and Wardlow takes them all down. Wardlow tells MJF that he will not stop until he gets his contract over. MJF challenges him for a match and Wardlow gets his contract if he beats MJF. MJF hypes the crowd asking them if they want the match. But, MJF has a couple of condition that he will reveal at contract signing, which will take place in Long Island next week.
AEW World Champion Adam Page comes out to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. Page says it will be really easy to say how much he loves CM Punk and looks forward to stand across the ring against him, and having an all time classic for the World title. But, that’s not gonna happen. At Double or Nothing, there is not going to be a handshake, or a Bret Hart tribute, but he is going to destroy Punk. Page takes a shot at a fan with Punk shirt in the front row. Page tells us that Punk is not here tonight. Page says he is going to embarass him and since Punk wants a fight, he will have it.
We are told that DDT’s Konosuke Takeshita will debut on TV on Rampage this week. Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Satnam Singh cut a promo backstage and unhappy that Satnam Singh did not get a welcome similar as Takeshita.
Chris Jericho vs Santana
Santana attacks Jericho on the ramp. Jericho tries to fire back with punches but Santana hits a big chop and then whips Jericho into the barricade. Jericho recovers as Santana takes his to set up steel steps. Jericho slams his face into the steel steps. Jericho gets the camera and Santana hits a pump kick on him. Santana throws Jericho back to the ring and the bell rings. Garcia and Angelo Parker grab Santana’s leg to allow Jericho to run him down. Jericho hits a springboard kick to drop Santana off the apron. We cut to a break.
Santana counters as we return. Both men are down. Santana gets up first and sends Jericho into the corner. Santana hits clotheslines and then hits three amigos suplex. He goes to the top for the frog splash but Jericho meets him there. Santana drops him to the mat with a headbutt and hits a frog splash for a two-count. Jericho hits back with elbows and puts on the Liontamer. Santana struggles but crawls to the ropes to break it. Jericho thinks he has won it when the referee tells him to break it.
Santana catches him with a cradle as Jericho argues with the referee. They trade chops for a while before Santana hits a cutter for a near fall. Garcia tries to throw in a baseball bat but Ortiz gets it and drops Garcia and Parker with it. Santana hits a discuss lariat for another near fall. Santana hits a cannonball in the corner. The referee is distracted by Matt Menard and Jericho hits a low blow. Jericho follows with Judas Effect and gets the pin.

After the match, JAS attack Santana and Ortiz. Jericho drops Ortiz with a baseball bat.
Samoa Joe cuts a brief promo backstage saying that throwing challenges is a work of brave men and not of ones like Jay Lethal. Joe says he is coming for Jay Lethal on Rampage this week.
Varsity Blondes are in the ring. Brian Pillman Jr takes the mic and says he stands a very humbled man by his encounters with House of Black. The same encounters has poisoned the mind of Julia Hart. Jon Harvaugh, Pillman Sr. friend, is in the front row and Pillman Jr. brings up an inspirational quote from him. Pillman says today is a new day and he is enthusiatic. He is enthusiatic about one thing that means everything for him, and that is to keep this group together. He calls out House of Black to fight.
The lights go off and House of Black make their entrance at the stage. The lights go off once again and they are at the apron when they return. The lights go off again and House of Black has surrounded Varsity Blondes awhen they come back. House of Black attack Varsity Blondes. They send both of them to the corner and boots them to the floor.
Black corners Julia. Mathews takes her to the middle of the ring and hands her a steel chair. Julia goes to hit Brian Pillman with it but decides against it. Black gets mad and rips off her eye patch. Death Triangle come out and House of Black run away.
Rey Fenix vs Dante Martin – Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier
They lock up and come to a stalemate when Rey gets Martin to the ropes. Martin hits a kick. Rey hits back with a dropkick to send him to the floor. Rey walks the ropes and hits a crossbody to take us to the break.
Rey hits a Spanish Fly from the second rope as we return. Dante runs into a big boot in the corner. Dante fights back with kicks and hits a crossbody from the top for a close two-count. Dante hits a suplex after avoiding a counter from Rey. Rey hits hurricanrana and goes for the rana pin but only gets two. Dante hits a kick to the chest. Rey hits a gamengiri.
Rey hits a cutter by popping up Dante in the air. Rey is a bit late into the pin and Dante breaks it. Dante coutners a driver with a pin attempt for two. Dante goes to the top and Rey hits at his knee. Rey hits a Spanish fly from the top but both men land on their feet. Dante hits a poisonrana. Rey avoids nosedive and hits a piledriver for the pin.

Deonna Purrazo vs Mercedes Martinez – ROH Women’s Championship Unification match
Purrazzo kicks away the handshake from Martinez. They circle after the bell rings and lock up briefly. Purrazzo goes for an arm wrench. Martinez counters and Purrazzo puts on a side headlock. Martinez takes her to the corner for a break. Deonna ducks a chop. She kicks at Martinez’s arm as she goes for a move. We cut to a break.
Purrazzo whips Martinez into the ringpost as we return. Both women beat the 20-count from the referee. They trade forearms in the middle of the ring. Martinez hits clotheslines and a backdrop. She hits a big boot to the face a couple of times to get a two-count. Purrazzo hits a Russian leg sweep. Martinez avoids the fuziwara armbar. Martinez counters a piledriver and hits a knee to the face. Martinez hits a fisherman buster for a two-count.
Purrazzo hit a back elbow and turns Martinez inside out with a Russian leg sweep type maneuver to get a two-count. Martinez hits a big punch as Purrazzo goes to the top. Martinez slams her face to the mat and locks in the Dragon sleeper. Purrazzo taps out.

Owen Hart Qualifier: ReDragon’s Bobby Fish will collide against the Charismatic Enigma Jeff Hardy in an Owen Hart Tournament qualifying match. Rey Fenix will also take the ring for the first time since his return to face Dante Martin.
ROH Women’s Title Unification: ROH Women’s Championship will be unified when the ROH women’s champion Deonna Purrazzo will make her AEW debut and face the interim champion Mercedes Martinez. Martinez won the interim title at Supercard of Honor when Purrazzo was not able to make the event.
Blackpool Combat Club vs Andrade Family Office: Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta of the Blackpool Combat Club will try to prove their dominance once again when they face Angelico, The Butcher & The Blade of the AFO in a six-man-tag-team match.
Chris Jericho vs Santana: Jericho Appreciation Society has been feuding with Santana, Ortiz, and Eddie Kingston for quite a while. Now, to advance this feud Chris Jericho will collide against Santana in a singles match.
Wardlow’s Mystery Opponent: Wardlow will face yet another opponent of MJF’s choosing as their feud continues.
Varsity Blondes Call Out House of Black: When Varsity Blondes were feuding with House of Black, Malakai Black spit black mist on Julia Hart. Julia is not same ever since and Varsity Blondes are calling out House of Black to settle things.
