AEW Dynamite episode of January 19, 2022, will air from Washington D.C. This will be third episode of AEW Dynamite for the year. CM Punk will be in action against Shawn Spears.

Adam Cole & AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker will take on Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander in a mixed tag team match. Sting will team up with Darby Allin to take on The Acclaimed. Cody Rhodes and Jon Moxley will return to AEW.

Jon Moxley Returns

Jon Moxley comes out to open the show. Mox says some fan shouts at him to go f**k himself and get outta here. Mox talks about having a bad dream where his demons told him nothing good is going to happen with him. He has more scars than an average person, but the scars that are inside are harder to see. Mox says we should not try to cover them up.

Nobody is perfect but you should not be afraid. So, that being said, he is sure there are plenty of people around the world would write him off. He will tell you the same thing he told that demon – take all of it and shove it up your a**. He will just beat the shit out of them.

Mox thanks everyone who supported him during the difficult time. In 2022, we should buckle for a ride. Mox says he’s gonna grab pro wrestling by the balls and do whatever he wants, because now more than anyone in this business, he’s free.


MJF is backstage with Wardlow. He says when CM Punk was beaten up last week, he chose an easy way out with a roll up win. MJF apologizes to Wardlow for shouting at him, but he will dock his pay since he put his hands on him. Wardlow will get his money when he win the Face of Revolution Ladder match and get him a title shot.

Adam Cole & Britt Baker vs Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander

Statlander hits a scoop and slam on Baker. Baker tags out to Cole. Orange Cassidy hits him with a crossbody from the top after running the ropes. Cole is sent to the floor. Statlander hits a delayed vertical suplex on Baker. Statlander hits a senton on the floor on Baker and Cassidy does the same on Cole. Statlander and Cassidy does the Best Friend hug. Cole and Baker hit back with superkicks and then kiss. We cut to a picture-in-picture ad.

Both men are down with double clotheslines after the break. Tags to both ladies and Statlander runs her over with a clothesline, a backbreaker follows. Statlander hits blue thunderbomb for a near fall. Baker hits back with a neckbreaker. Men come back into the ring and Cassidy unloads with punches. Cole hits a low kick and an enziguiri. Cassidy hits back with stun dog millionaire. Baker takes the blind tag and hits Cassidy with the curb stomp. Statlander comes in to hit another blue thunderbomb.

Statlander hits 450-splash on Baker and Cole comes on top of Baker to protect her. Cassidy tags in and hits Air Raid crash for a near fall. Cole rolls to the ramp and hits a superkick mid air as Cassidy goes for a springboard move. Britt hits Pittsburg Sunrise on the ramp on Statlander. Cole hits Panama Sunrise on Cassidy in the ring but Cassidy kicks out of the pin.

Cole sets up a table on the floor but Cassidy accidentally ends up pushing Baker into it. Cole gets mad at this and hits a low blow on Cassidy. He hits Last Shot on Cassidy to get the pin.

Winner – Adam Cole & Britt Baker

Chris Jericho is with Santana & Ortiz for an interview. They gets asked about Eddie Kingston last week. Jericho says he does not care about Eddie. Ortiz and Santana cut him off to say that while Jericho might not care about Eddie, but they do. They also wonder if Eddie has got a point about Jericho being the reason why they haven’t won the tag titles yet. Maybe, it’s time to focus on themselves.

Adam Cole is backstage with Alex Marvez. Cole takes the mic from Marvez and tells him to go away. Cole says Cassidy has been a thorn in his side. He has defeated him singles, tag and now mixed tag team match. What more does he need to do. Then, it hit me. He will destroy him next week at Beach Break in a Lights Out Match.

Shawn Spears vs CM Punk

We get a video package for this match. Spears says he is the man MJF sends when he needs to get the job done. Punk replies that MJF is running out of bodies to come after him and it will just be a matter of time when he has to come to face him. Both men make their entrance. MJF comes out on the commentary.

The bell rings and CM Punk hits GTS immediately on Spears to get the pin.

Winner – CM Punk

After the match, CM Punk celebrates in the ring and taunts MJF. MJF sneaks behind him but Punk grabs his stroll. MJF runs away before Punk could attack him.

Billy Gunn goes to asks for a tag team title shot to Christian against Jurassic Express. Christian says they need a statement win first. The Gunn boys attack Christian.

Cody Returns

Cody Rhodes comes out to the ring. He brings out a ladder from underneath the ring and sets it up in the middle. Cody takes the mic and talks about CM Punk’s pipebomb. He talks about Punk talking about working in ROH, NJPW, but he did not get to work there. “Cody sucks!” chants go on. Cody says how Punk’s return is award the comeback of the year, but it was a comeback of the decade.

Cody says all this happened because of him, because he carried this company on his back. Cody says we wonder why he does not turn heel because we cheered for him when he was doing all that. He held every grain of revolution in his hand and we cheered for him.

He is gone for two weeks and Young Bucks are fighting with ReDragon, Starks is feuding with Jay Lethal, Malakai Black now has Brody King with him. Talking about Brodie, Miro, Darby and TNT champion Sammy. He says Tony Khan has sent Sammy and him contracts for a title unification match. Cody says at Beach Break, why not they have a ladder match.

Jade Cargill & Mark Sterling are backstage. Anna Jay has answered her open challenge for the TBS Championship. John Silver is with Anna and says Anna is gonna win this match. Anna recalls how she wrapped up barbed wire around her hand to win at Rampage two weeks back.

Kings of Black Throne(Malakai Black & Brody King) vs The Varsity Blondes(Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison)

King takes Garrison to the corner and tags in Black. Black brings him down and Brody comes back. Garrison skips past him to tag in Pillman. Pillman hesitates in getting in. Brody runs over Garrison on the floor. Pillman hits a tackle on Brody before getting caught by Black as he goes for a suicide dive.

Brody and Black double team with quick moves on Pillman. Both men hit a senton on Pillman. Garrison comes in but gets hit with a suplex. Brody hits King’s Inferno for the pin and the win.

Winner – Kings of Black Throne

Black takes the mic but his promo is cut short by PAC, who appears on the big screen. PAC says he has been given a vision and a purpose, and Malakai is the same as every other cretin in AEW- self-obsessed and power-hungry. PAC says Black might have a few spells up his sleeve, but the bastard is out of his reach, incorruptible.

A video package from Jake “the Snake” Roberts with Lance Archer and Dan Lambert by his side. Roberts questions whether Page should be a cowboy and AEW World Champion.

Roppongi Vice – Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero interrupt a pre-taped video from Young Bucks. Rocky Romero says recalls beating the Young Bucks in NJPW three times for the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team titles. They challenge Young Bucks for a match at Rampage.

Lance Archer vs Frankie Kazarian

Archer starts with a big back elbow and poses in the corner. Kaz tries to fight back but Archer runs him over with a clothesline. He hits a big slap on the chest before working on the ropes. Archer continues to rough up Kaz for a while. More punches and forearms in the corner. Archer throws him across the ring with a suplex. Kaz is knocked to the floor as we cut to picture-in-picture break.

After the break, Kaz tries to fight back with forearms. Archer throws him in the corner. Archer goes for the black out but Kaz fights back and rakes his eyes. Kaz hits a missile dropkick. Kaz hits a leg drop for one count. Kaz counters the crossface chickenwing and hits a chokeslam. He hits helicoster but does not go for the pin. He hits Blackout and gets the pin.

Winner – Lance Archer

Dan Lambert takes the mic and starts to address Hangman Page. He says Page is not old enough to deal with Archer. Archer takes away the mic and says no need to talk more and he will show him what he will do. Archer throws a chair on the ramp and looks to attack Kazarian there. Page comes out and slaps Archer to start a brawl. Hangman gets the upper hand with his cowboy boot. Hangman goes for the buckshot lariat but Archer grabs him for a chokeslam. Hangman fights back with rolling elbows and clotheslines Archer to the floor. Lambert calms down Archer and takes him away.

Kris Statlander & Red Velvet are backstage for an interview. Leyla Hirsch comes out and rants on Statlander for not having enough focus in their match last week. Red Velvet tells Hirsch that it was just a miscommunication. Hirsch drops Velvet with a big punch. Statlander argues with Hirsch but she also drops Statlander.

Dante Martin, Lee Moriarty, and Matt Sydal are backstage with Tony Schiavone. Martin says he got their back against Team Taz. Moriarty says they will be with him until his brother Darius returns.

Ricky Starks and Will Hobbs cut a promo from the other side. Starks says Dante thinks everybody is his friend, but he will find out he is all alone. Hobbs says Dante should watch all sides, because Team Taz are assassins.

Skye Blue vs Serena Deeb

Deed starts with a takedown. She puts on a side headlock and hits a shoulder tackle. Blue hits back with an elbow from the apron. Deeb hits a neckbreaker on the ropes. A big splash in the corner from Deeb before he catapults Blue on the ropes. Deeb hits a few uppercuts before a swinging neckbreaker. Deeb hits deeb-tox and then puts on serenity lock to get the submission win.

Winner – Serena Deeb

The Acclaimed vs Sting & Darby Allin

A video package from the Acclaimed to mock Sting and Darby where Sting runs over Darby with his car. Caster hits Sting with a bat from behind. Acclaimed make their entrance with Caster rapping. Sting and Darby come out but the Acclaimed attack them before they can get into the ring. Darby is injured and unable to continue.

Sting starts the match on his own and drops both men with big shots. He throws both men to the floor and then whips each of them into the steel steps. Back to the ring, Sting hits Caster with the Stinger Splash. Bowens takes out the top turnbuckle. Sting misses the stinger splash to crash on the exposed turnbuckle. Caster hits a missile dropkick on Sting to take us to the break.

Sting gets the control back as we return. He drops Caster and puts on the Scorpion Deathlock. Bowens attacks but Sting is unfazed. Bowens manages to bring down Sting and takes him to the floor. Caster distracts the referee and Bowens runs Sting over with a boom box. Acclaimed goes to put Sting through the Steel steps but Darby comes back to make the save.

Darby tags in and hits coffin drop on both opponents on the bloor. Darby hits code red on Caster in the ring for a near fall. Darby hits coffin splash in the corner. Caster fights back from the gullitone choke. Acclaimed double team on Darby and Sting has to make the save. Sting back drops Caster to the ramp. Caster goes down the ramp and Sting hits him with a dive to send him through a table. Back in the ring, Darby hits a stunner and coffin drop for the win.

CM Punk vs Shawn Spears: As his rivalry with MJF continues, CM Punk will take on MJF’s sidekick Shawn Spears.

Sting in Action: The Icon Sting will be in a match for the first time this year. He will take on the Acclaimed as Darby and Sting continue their rivalry with the tag team.

Cody Rhodes Return: Cody Rhodes has been missing from AEW ever since winning TNT title at Rampage Christmas Special due to COVID-19 protocol. He returns this week on Dynamite. Will we see a title unification match here?

Mixed Tag Team Match: Adam Cole and Orange Cassidy’s rivalry continues with a mixed tag team match. Cole will team up with his real life partner and AEW Women’s Champion Kris Statlander while Cassidy will have his stablemate Kris Statlander with him. Last week, Baker attacked Statlander when she came out to confront Cole.

Serena Deeb vs Skye Blue: Deeb will face Skye Blue in a singles match, who is looking to get revenge from Deeb over her attack on Hikaru Shida.

Jon Moxley Returns: Jon Moxley will return to AEW after completing his rehabilitation. Moxley missed 12 weeks of action in AEW and it will be interesting to see who will feud with him upon return.
