Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Dynamite Beach Break 2022 weekly special episode of January 26, 2022 from Wolstein Center in Cleveland, OH.

The show will have an unofficial headliner in the Lights Out match between Adam Cole and Orange Cassidy. AEW TNT Championship will be reunited as full-time champion Cody Rhodes faces interim champion, Sammy Guevara, in a ladder match. CM Punk and Britt Baker’s segments are also announced along with Leyla Hirsch vs Red Velvet singles match and Inner Circle vs 2Point0 trios match.

  • Sammy Guevara defeated Cody Rhodes in a Ladder Match to win AEW TNT Championship.

Cody Rhodes vs Sammy Guevara – AEW TNT Championship Match

After initial back and forth, Guevara lands a dropkick. They come to a stalemate after another lockup. Sammy slams Cody’s hadn into the mat. Sammy goes to fetch a ladder, but Cody blocks him and goes and gets a ladder of his own. Guevara hits a pump kick and throws him into the barricade. They fight into the crowd now.

Guevara brings in big ladder from the ramp. They trade forearm strikes. Cody ends up on the apron and Sammy blasts him off the apron with the ladder. Guevara climbs but Rhodes cuts him off with an electric chair before both men end up on the floor. They both climb the ladder and Cody hits a vertical suplex from the top of the ladder to take us to the break.

Back from the break, Cody trips Sammy from the ropes and he lands into a ladder. Cody puts on a figure four leg lock in between the ladder. Sammy fires out of the corner with a clothesline and then hits an enziguiri. Cody throws a ladder at his face. He slams Sammy face into the ladder once again. Cody climbs to the top and Sammy hits him with a cutter from the top.

Sammy climbs but Cody trips the ladder. Cody then hits a crossroads from the middle of the ladder. Cody reaches the top. Sammy follows him quickly and both men are hanging on the top as the ladder under them slips out. Both men land to the mat. Cody slams Sammy’s knee against the ladder. Fuego Del Sol comes out seeing this and protests against it. Cody hits him with a piledriver. Sammy comes into the ring and hits some quick moves to take advantage. Sammy sets up Cody on a bridging ladder between the ring and the barricade and hits a senton on him.

Sammy climbs to the top again. Cody follows him gingerly. They fight on the top before Sammy drops him for good and brings down the belts.

Winner – Sammy Guevara(wins unificed TNT title)

Tony Schiavone interviews Team Taz outside in cold weather. Powerhouse Hobbs challenges Dante Martin for a rematch while Ricky Starks challenges Jay Lethal for FTW title.

Wardlow vs Enhancement Talent – Handicapped Match

Wardlow tells Shawn Spears to stay back at the stage for the match. He enters the ring to start the match. Wardlow drops both men one by one. He then hits a powerbomb on them one by one. More powerbombs and he slams one of them on top of the other with the final powerbomb. Wardlow stands on top with his leg on the chest and gets the pin.

Winner – Wardlow

After the match, Spears was heading down to the ring, but Wardlow stops him again.

Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz vs Daniel Garcia, Matt Lee & Jeff Parker

Jericho and Lee start the match but they both tag out quickly. Santana and Ortiz work double team against Parker. Parker tags out and his team starts to work on Ortiz. Garcia and Ortiz exchange forearm strikes. Ortiz hits a clothesline and brings in Santana for a double back drop and combination dropkicks.

Jericho gets frustrated as Ortiz and Santana keeps tags in between them. Ortiz tags back himself and Jericho is surprised. Garcia takes advantage and hits a chop block on Ortiz. We cut to a break.

2Point0 continues to be in control as we return. Ortiz hits an enziguiri on Parker. Lee knocks off Santana and Jericho off the apron. Ortiz continues to fight back. Jericho gets back on the apron, but Ortiz waits for Santana to get back and tags him. Santana and Ortiz continue to work together and leave Jericho out of the match.

Garcia cuts off Santana with fireman’s carry facebuster. 2Point0 goes to hit Santana with double team finisher but Jericho makes the save and hits Judas effect on Lee from the floor. Santana hits a piledriver on Lee to get the pin and the win.

Winner – Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz

A video package for AEW World Champion Adam Page and Lance Archer. They will meet in the ring in two weeks.

CM Punk & MJF

CM Punk is out in the ring and says he is sick of talking and therefore came out dressed to fight. He reveals MJF’s stolen scarf as he removes his hoodie. Punk says he wanted to goad in MJF into a fight using the scarf, but then he found out that you can get a 12-pack in $5. Punk says he thought Cleveland would be a good place to have a match but MJF will have his excuses.

MJF comes out to the stage. He asks the crowd whether he wants him to face Punk tonight. The crowd agrees, but MJF says he will do one better and have a match in Chicago next week. MJF says the result of that match will be disappointing for the fans as they will see the real CM Punk when he loses. MJF brings up Punk no-showing in WWE in 2014 and crying about it on a podcast.

Punk says it was the best thing he did, and then he did another good thing by coming to AEW. Punk says MJF would not be brushing with greatness if he didn’t have come, and advises him to take care of the match like everyone else. Punk goes on and says people don’t love him because he wins, they love him because he gets back up and he fights just like Cleveland and Chicago.

MJF brings out FTR and Wardlow to the stage but Spears attacks Punk from behind. Punk gets the upper hand against Spears but others run in and overwhelm him. Wardlow ends the segment with a big powerbomb on the chair.

Julia Hart and Griff Garrison are backstage when Mark Sterling rolls up and wants Julia to sign a release to wrestle Jade Cargill for TBS Championship. Griff tries to warns her, but Julia shuts him up and says she can make her own decisions. Hart signs the contract.

Red Velvet vs Leyla Hirsch

Velvet runs into the ring and takes down Hirsch to beat her down. Velvet hits a dropkick before Hirsch slips out of the ring for a breather. Hirsch slams Velvet into the apron. Velvet counters a whip with a forearm and hits a clothesline. Velvet works on Hirsch from the apron. She puts on arm triangle sleeper in the ring. Hirsch overpowers her and slams her with a buckle bomb. Hirsch slams her shoulder into the corner again to take us to the break.

Velvet hits a stunner as we return from the break. Hirsch worked on her shoulder throughout the break. Velvet hits a series of clotheslines and then hits double knees to the back of her head. Hirsch goes for a German suplex but Velvet counters and runs in with a spear. Hirsch comes back with a big knee strike. She puts on the cross arm breaker but Velvet gets to the ropes quickly.

Velvet gets her in a cradle for two-count. Velvet hits a low kick to trip her, but Hirsch rolls her up and uses the tights to get the pin.

Champion Baker

The ring is set up with Britt Baker’s PWI awards for this year. Tony Schiavone brings her out. Baker says she has not been on the mic for a while, but this does not mean that Punk & MJF can take her name every time they cut a promo. Baker brings up her awards wins and how she has won 9 singles matches since winning the Women’s title.

Baker says this division was a wasteland before she became the champ and is now a Eutopia. She has made a spot for herself, and has taken over the entire roster to become the face of AEW. She is the first woman to main event both Dynamite and Rampage and is voted the wrestler of the year by the fans.

Baker continues to talk about her achievements. She then adds that she won’t settle until she is the female of the decade. She tells Cleveland that she will be the champion that they deserve.

Vickie Guerrero cuts off the commentary team and she brings Nyla Rose. Rose says she could not be the TBS Champion because of a fluke win by Ruby Soho. Rose claims that she could beat Soho 99 out of 100 times and she will prove it next week.

Adam Cole vs Orange Cassidy – Lights Out Match

Cassidy breaks his sunglasses to indicate a war. They start brawling. Cole hits a knee and sends OC to the floor. OC sends Cole into the barricade and hits a shotgun dropkick. Cole reverses a whip to send him to the barricade. He hits a side slam on Cassidy on the barricade. Cole looks for a chair underneath the ring. Danhausen comes out from underneath the ring. Cole gets distracted. Cassidy ducks a chair shot and hits a tornado DDT.

Cole hits a low kick to the knee and then a pump kick. He goes for Panama Sunrise but OC counters it with a spinebuster through a table. OC goes for the Superman punch but Cole hits at his hand with the timekeeper’s bell. Cole kicks at his hand against the steel steps. Cole brings out a trash can, steel chain and more things as we cut to break.

Cole hits a brainbuster as we return. Cole sets up chairs before OC counters with stun dog millionaire. He drops Cole on the chair with Michinoku driver. Cole hits back with a superkick. OC lands on the floor and goes underneath the ring. Cole asks Brandon Cutler to come out. Yuta attacks Cutler on the stage. Bobby Fish comes out. Chuck Taylor attacks them. Young Bucks come out only for Rappongii Vice to attack them. Cole goes for a low blow but OC has a steel abdomen guard on with thumbtacks on it.

OC hits lazy kicks followed by Panama Sunrise to get a near fall. Cassidy wraps a steel chain around his right hand, but Cole gets away to avoid the punch. Cole goes to the gorilla position where Tony Khan was sitting. Cole puts OC through Khan’s table. Cole brings OC back to the stage and hits a superkick. OC hits back with a superkick. He wraps the steel chain on his hand again but Cole hits at his hand with a disco light.

Cole climbs a truce to get on a high platform. OC follows him and hits him with a low blow. Cassidy hugs him and takes him down through the stage. OC covers Cole and gets the pin.

Winner – Orange Cassidy
