It is going to be a busy SmackDown episode as Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton storyline is looking like continuing forward, Erick Rowan will explain his actions against Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin will be coronated at the King. For more details, please check the complete preview below.
The commentary team welcomes us to the show. They tell us that Erick Rowan will sit down for an interview while Daniel Bryan will also address Rowan. Charlotte Flair will face off against Sasha Banks. But first, it is a New Day!! Yes, it is!!
The New Day vs Randy Orton & the Revival
Big E starts with a big belly to belly suplex on Wilder. He puts Wilder on the apron and hits a splash their while Woods keeps Orton from getting involved. Woods is tagged in and Wilder immediately kicks on his weak knee. Dawson is tagged in and corners Woods with some strikes. Woods counters with some punches and hits a clothesline for a quick two count.
Kingston comes in and hits a double axehandle from the top turnbuckle. The Viper tags in and Kofi hits a springboard dropkick out of the corner. The New Day makes swift tags with each one of them hitting back to back moves on Orton. The Revival gets involved and are taken down by Big e as we go to break.
As we return from the break, we see Woods being worked upon by the heels. They work on his injured knee and keep him in their corner. Woods hits swift chops on Orton but Orton rakes his eyes to keep control. And their work on Woods continues. Woods kicks Dawson out of the ring. He tries to make a tag but Wilder cuts him off. Woods hits some chops on Wilder and tries to mount a comeback. But Wilder sends him and Orton suplexes Woods onto the announce table as we head to another break.
Kofi gets the hot tag and runs riot. He puts down Dawson and Wilder and hits Orton with the SOS when the pin is broken up by Dawson. E and Woods are taken down by the Revival on the outside. Kofi hits a basement slide on Dawson but Orton intercepts his suicide dive to hit a DDT. The heels were getting ready for FTRKO but Big E and Woods make the save. Kofi hits Dawson with Trouble in Paradise for the pin and the win.
Winners- The New Day
As the match ends, music hits and surprise, surprise!! Its Brock Lesnar. He hits the ring with Paul Heyman. Kofi has told Big E and Woods to leave. Lesnar is sporting a stubble which makes him a look a bit more intimidating than always. Heyman takes the mic and tells Kofi that Lesnar stands in the way to cut short his title reign and challenges Kofi for the title match at 4 October’s Fox premiere of SmackDown. Kofi replies that he has always been a fighting champion and accepts the challenge. Lesnar scoops him up and hits F5 before leaving.
Kayla Braxton is backstage with Sasha Banks and SD Champ Bayley. Banks isn’t worried about facing Becky at Hell In a Cell, because Becky has never been in a Cell match before. They talk about Sasha’s match against Charlotte Flair tonight and Bayley says Sasha will answer all the questions in the ring before they walk off.
