Welcome to ITN’s Live Results and Updates blog for WWE Friday Night SmackDown’s Hell in a Cell 2020 go-home episode of 23 October 2020 featuring Roman Reigns revealing more “consequences” for his match against Jey Uso, Otis defending his MITB contract in court and more buildup for Hell in a Cell.

The show opens with Kevin Owens show and his guest for tonight is Daniel Bryan. They discuss new SmackDown stars after the draft. Bryan believes that Intercontinental Championship should be defended every week on SmackDown. Owens pitches for them to become a tag team. Bryan brings up Owens’ past and how he betrayed almost every partner of his.

Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode interrupt them. WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Street Profits come out next. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura follow them. A brawl breaks out and Adam Pearce comes out with an official to get things under control.

The Street Profits, Kevin Owens & Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura with Montez Ford pinning Cesaro after the top-rope splash.

Law & Otis court segment where Otis is defending himself and his Money in the Bank contract against The Miz. Miz’s lawyer start the proceeding but The Miz takes over from him. He accuses Otis of emotional and physical scars, and not helding up his Money In the Bank responsibility. Otis replies that he should have the breifcase since he won it. Miz’s lawyer says Otis has a good argument. Miz fires his lawyer on the spot.

Backstage, Sami Zayn confronts Daniel Bryan and tells him that he is the IC champ and he will dictate the terms. He tells Bryan to keep his ideas to himself.

Bianca Beliar defeated Zelina Vega in a short match, getting the pin after hitting KOD.

Lars Sullivan defeated Shorty G in a squash match, getting a pin after hitting the Freak Accident.

After the match, Kayla Braxton goes to Shorty G for comments. Shorty G says he quits and leaves the ring.

Backstage, Seth Rollins is with Alyse Ashton and talks about his match against Murphy later tonight. He says Murphy’s emotions have left him confused. He again says that he is the Messiah and Murphy is a walk-behinder.

Adam Pearce checks on Shorty G. G tells him that he does not accept Shorty G crap and he is Chad Gable.

Bayley comes out and cuts a promo against Sasha Banks and not signing the contract for their Hell in a Cell match. Sasha comes out to the ring. Bayley attacks but Sasha dodges and grabs the SmackDown title belt to hold Bayley to ransom. Bayley suckers Sasha into an attack and brings in a chair. Sasha turns the table on her and puts her in the Bank statement in between the chair. Sasha forces Bayley to sign the contract while keeping her in the lock. Bayley signs.

Law & Otis continue – Morrison is emotional as he is testifying about how Otis assaulted him. Rey Mysterio is next on the stand and says Otis deserved to win the Money in the Bank match. RAW Women’s Champion Asuka is on the stand and goes on a rant in Japanese. JBL asks someone if they got that. It’s former WWE referee and SmackDown manager Teddy Long. He says he understood every single word.

Tucker takes the stand at the end and says Otis was being sensitive because Miz had Otis’ girlfriend Mandy Rose sent to RAW. Things get heated up between Miz and Tucker as they argue about Otis neglecting the briefcase. Tucker says Otis has only been thinking about beating the crap out of Miz. JBL calls for order in the court. He will take a short recess and then he will announce the verdict.

JBL is giving out his verdict after the break. He says its Otis’ job description as a WWE Superstar whatever he did to Miz. For MITB negligence, he has one year to cash in. JBL is about to rule in Otis’ favor but Miz interrupts and hands him a black briefcase. JBL opens it and chuckles at the bribe that Miz has given him. JBL then announces that Otis will face Miz at WWE Hell in a Cell with the MITB briefcase on the line.

Seth Rollins defeated Murphy after a good back and forth match. The finish came after Rollins countered the Murphy’s Law and hit the Stomp for the pin.

After the match, Rollins unloads on Murphy with a kendo stick. Alayah runs down and Dominik also follow. Rollins attacks Dominik from behind, only to retreat when Rey Mysterio run down with a steel chair. After Rollins leaves, The Mysterio Family keeps arguing.

Roman Reigns comes out to the ring. But before he could speak, Jey Uso appears on the screen from Roman’s backstage suite. It turns out that it was actually Jimmy and Jey attacks Roman from behind. Roman levels him and the steel chair with a big boot. Jey hits a superkick and a splash before running away. Jimmy joins him on the stage.

Roman takes the mic and tells the Usos that if he quits at Hell in a Cell, he will no longer be the Universal Champion. But if Jey quits, The Usos will not be a part of the Samoan family and neither will be their kids and wives. Those are the consequences from Hell in a Cell match.
