Backstage, The Street Profits are shocked by what they have seen and heard.
Cedric Alexander vs Baron Corbin – King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match
Cedric Alexander is selling his arm as he enters which got injured due to attack from the OC. They lock up and Cedric uses his quickness to avoid getting cornered. Corbin slides out of the ring and comes back in to deliver a huge clothesline for a near fall. Ced hits a dropkick and a handspring kick to the head to knock Corbin out of the ring. Alexander nails him with a suicide dive. Corbin gains control and starts working over Cedric’s injured arm as we head to a break.
Corbin still is working on Cedric’s injured arm as we return from the break. Cedric Alexander is hung up in the Tree of Woe is getting his head smashed into the ring post. Cedric hits a jumping kick out of desperation. He trips Corbin into the middle turnbuckle and hits a delayed dropkick. Corbin hits a spinebuster to stop his momentum. He rams Alexander’s shoulder into the turnbuckle. Cedric jumps into his arms and Corbin hits Deep Six for a two count.
Alexander sends him into the ring post four times before he unleashes a flurry of kicks. Alexander is now slamming Corbin’s shoulder into the ring post over and over again, trying to even the playing field. He takes Corbin out with a dive over the top rope. Corbin kicks out after a missile dropkick. Alexander hits a couple of big moves for a pair of close two count. Corbin trips Alexander on the top rope and hits End of Days for the pin and the win.
Winner- Baron Corbin(Advances to King of the Ring Quarterfinals)
Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman did not complete the contract signing this week. So, we are going to get that next week. Except for this time, it will be moderated by Stone Cold Steve Austin and not Michael Cole.
Backstage, Charly Caruso is talking to Bayley and she immediately asks about Sasha Banks. Upon some pushing from Caruso, Bayley says they have indeed talked but she won’t go into it because it’s personal. She is the SmackDown Women’s champion, and she wants Charly to ask about the match she has tonight. Caruso asks her if Bayley feels overshadowed by Becky Lynch. Bayley says she doesn’t feel like she has been overshadowed and the SmackDown title means just as much as the Raw title. By the end of the night, we’ll see who is standing in whose shadow.
