Second Elimination Chamber Match Announced for This Year’s PPV

The second Elimination Chamber match is announced for the 2021 edition of namesake PPV.

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns opened SmackDown tonight and addressed Edge’s comment that he will wait Elimination Chamber to decide on his WrestleMania opponent. WWE official Adam Pearce was already in the ring with a contract for Elimination Chamber match for Universal Championship.

Roman then changed the game and Paul Heyman announced that 6 men will instead battle for #1 contender for Universal Championship. Heyman also added that the winner will get the title shot on the spot against Roman Reigns.

Adam Pearce then announced that qualification matches will take place on SmackDown tonight to identify the participants. He added there are two men who deserve to be in the chamber though and announced that Jey Uso and Kevin Owens will be in the match.

Elimination Chamber Match for WWE Universal Championship

Sami Zayn and King Corbin defeated Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio to qualify. Cesaro and Daniel Bryan also won their match against The Dirty Dawgs- WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode to qualify.

All six participants for the match- Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, King Corbin and Kevin Owens – closed SmackDown with a big brawl. Kevin Owens stood tall at the end with stunners of all others.

The reports for the second Elimination Chamber match were rolling around since Thursday. This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter also added to those rumors earlier today.

This is the fourth match to be announced for Elimination Chamber 2021 PPV. WWE Championship, United States and RAW Women’s Championship matches are already announced.
