WWE Confirm SummerSlam 2020 Location Shifted

The location for SummerSlam 2020 has been a subject of speculation for some time now. WWE has released a statement regarding it and confirmed SummerSlam and related events for this year will not take place in Boston.

Earlier in the year, WWE announced for TD Garden Arena in Boston, MA to host SummerSlam 2020 on 23 August. The tickets also went on the sale for the PPV along with special passes and surrounding events. But the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the authorities to ban public events. WWE released the following statement while re-locating the event.

In coordination with our local partners, government officials and TD Garden, WWE’s SummerSlam and related events will no longer take place in Boston. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase.

The event is now expected to go ahead from WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Every PPV since April has aired from WWE’s training facility with the latest being. Along with SummerSlam 2020, NXT TakeOver: 30 is announced to take place on 22 August.

WWE added in the press note “We are grateful to the city of Boston for their longstanding partnership and look forward to holding WWE events at TD Garden in the future.”
